Could have been so much better
I had high expectations for this book. I love curries, Indian food and I’m a Slimming World member. The first part of this book is filled with Slimming World plan information. If you are, or have been, a SW member it’s waisted, as it was for me. I like to see photos of the dish I am making, there are many pages without photos and blanks spaces on the pages that could have been filled with additional information and/or photos. The cost of the book far exceeded the value of recipes and information. Don’t waste your money.

brilliant!!! My bangladeshi friend agrees...
This book was an eye-opener. A lifelong lover of Northern Indian and Bangladeshi food, I didn't think these recipes would be anything near to authentic. I cooked for my Bangla friend and he tasted... paused... tasted again... his face broke into a big smile; he said 'I can taste the subtlety of the spices... and it isn't swimming in ghee like so many Anglo-Indian restaurants here make it... we love fat-free food like this! my mother used to make this! Can I have a plateful please?' I was so thrilled. You can doctor the recipes to taste (eg. add asafotoeda or more green cardamons ect) and it works because the bases of the recipes is sound. i used to buy expensive take-aways or frozen Indian ready-meals (ie from Indian shops not supermarkets) and these recipes taste far better than many I've had, even my favourite ones. Growing coriander is easy on windowsill, which really helps for that authentic piquancy and I sprinkle it into flatbread dough also, which adds more to the flavours also.Oh, just GET IT. You'll not regret it. Many are remarkably quick also.

Still I enjoy referring to this book now and again
I have now about 10 cookbooks detailing various recipes from India. Although not exactly correct in many variants, this does cover most of the traditional meals that one can experience in india. The temperature / spiciness of the dishes is I feel tempered for the english market. Still I enjoy referring to this book now and again, especially if i have guests who are not "au fait" with indian cuisine.Very tasty and extremely simple to make - a good starter book for people who want an introduction to the Indian kitchen, the spices, herbs and seasoning used. Well recommended.

Great Receipes
I was looking for some additional recipes to add to my slimming world meal plan. This book provided some inspiring suggestions. There were 6 recipes that I thought were fabulous and are already firm favourites and are eaten on a regular basis. Worth a look.
