I got this to check my cats microchips and the neighborhood strays that we feed. It quickly and accurately read my 4 cats microchips that they all got within the last few years. This is perfect to check neighborhood cats to see if they're microchipped because it eliminates the need to try and trap them to take them to get checked at a vets office which would really stress them out.

A must have in the rescue world. Quick, affordable, easy to understand and use. It’s a great size, especially when using for cats. It’s affordable, portable and seems pretty accurate. It has already helped reunite 3 cats with their owners. It has a long battery life and easily chargeable

I needed to check the microchips of my three cats so I ordered the product with hope that I wouldn't have to take them to the vet just to read the microchips and I was successful in all three. Simple to operate, the chip number (15 digits) appeared very fast and clearly and I did not encounter any problems. very pleased.

July 27, 2024. I have 5 dogs and all are chipped. This scanner read all but one of my dog's chip. I know for a fact she is chipped because she is from the National Yorkie Rescue group and her foster mom was present when the chip was inserted last August, 2023. Plus I have all the chip related paper work. Even if an older chip was possibly inserted, the scanner should at least indicate the presences of a microchip. So this is disappointing. Also I contacted the seller on the day I got it (July 17, 2024) to address the issue, but they have not gotten back to me.

my pets have a 10 and a 15 digit code and it works on both. easy, fast, and reliable. great price for peace of mind.

Day one of using Halo scanner, I was amazed! I scanned my 2 cats & it found their chips instantly! My dog is a senior & her chip seems to have moved over the years. But with just a couple of tries & moving the scanner over a broader area, it easily found her chip. I bought the scanner to scan a stray cat that might be too stressed to take to the vet just yet. I think this Halo scanner will be a very handy tool to have!

The media could not be loaded. I love this scanner. While not advertised, it does scan older 9-digit chips as well! I found a lot of the cheaper scanners were not compatible with older chips, but this scanner has read every chip I've thrown its way. If you're scanning a 9-digit chip, it will scan and display the chip number on the LCD display when scanned, but the 9-digit chips aren't retrievable through the scan history, only the longer chips will show in the history, so my advice is to take a quick picture if you scan an animal with an older 9 digit chip. I love that you don't have to get right on top of the microchip for this thing to pick it up, there is a little bit of wiggle room and it will pick up the chip from about an inch away. So glad I purchased this!
