Q: Is there a specification or rating for how much force it takes to slide this suction cup across a surface (as opposed to pull-off force)?

I have been using them always in horisontal position for a year to hold about 15-20 kilos abobe the car and drove around 60-70 mph and they have never moved or sliped even with rain.

Q: IMT what is the official speed rating for the 6" mount?

Not sure, 45 on a boat and still there holding a pole.

Q: What is the true threaded hole size? The stated 5/16-18 is close but only about 1 thread enters until it binds.

The units that I purchased had 1/4-20 threads. I did have trouble threading a bolt into the hole and ran a 1/4-20 bottom tap into the hole.
