Great message
This book is so cute and funny. The pictures actually document the life of a dog, but the story is from his point of view. It has a good message. You have to work hard to be what you want to be and there are actually some things you can’t be.

My daughter carried this book around from the time she was 18 months old until she hit first grade. The book is tattered and worn and torn, and she still, age 14, won't let us forget this book. She loves it. (And I can recite it in my sleep)

My favorite book to give a child
This is a wonderful book--and over the years I've given at least 10 to parents of small children. Stephen Green Armytage's pictures are amazing, and Dudley is a dog you'll remember forever. He's smart, he's determined and totally adorable. You'll love this book.

Dudley: The Little Terrier That Could
This book is for ALL ages! Children will LOVE it because Dudley is small like them and "has a plan." Adults will LOVE the book because it is literally the "underdog" story -- and we've all either been or known a "Dudley" at some point in our lives -- Dudley makes us smile and cheer him on. Dog Lovers will LOVE the book because Dudley "RULES!" It reminds me of "The Little Engine That Could" story -- both books have WONDERFUL "attitude" morals and are character-building. The photographs and story-line of "Dudley" are equally brilliant. Dudley is a story to read and re-read at all stages of your life

Like shooting fish in a barrel!
I don't consider myself a "gifted" reader, but I got through this book in about 7 minutes! I'm not kidding, it was that easy! I don't really understand what was happening with the plot, but it all seemed believeable. Except the part about flying. I don't think that is true. Also, I think that telling kids that "It's the same big world for all of us" is kind of cruel. Obviously some folks get a better chance than others at succeeding, but I'm not bitter. Anyway, I loved the pictures. I would recommend this book for anyone who needs to add another title to their life list.
