This is just what I wanted. Very sturdy and well made.

This fish spatula is absolutely great! It's built very well, feels solid in the hand, it's strong yet flexible. I'm not a huge fan of things made in China, but this is not a cheap item by any means. I'm sure this will be in use for many many years to come. That little finger that sticks down ahead of your hand is very useful if you want to sit the spatula down on a flat surface quickly. It keeps the back of the working end of the spatula up off the counter just a little bit, which is great if the spatula is greasy. The grip is a little soft, and sticks to the hand even when wet, so you never have to worry about it slipping. I'm very happy with this item and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone who wants a strong, yet flexible spatula.

I like the longer length and hefty handle. It is balanced and is perfect to use when grilling fish which I do frequently.

The Toadfish fish spatula costs more than others, but I think it's worth the price. It's got a solid, heavy feel to it. I've only used it on flounder filets on my grill thus far, and it works great. If it can flip flounder on the grill without ending up with a million broken bits of filet, I expect the spatula will easily handle firmer fish like halibut, mahi, and salmon. The "built-in" spatula rest is a nice plus, although I had to bend the spatula a little bit for the rest to keep the spatula off the counter. Finally, the company uses some of its profits for towards fishery and oyster bed restoration - very worth causes!

This is a very nice spatula; sturdy and very well made. The 'spoon rest' integrated in the handle is a nice feature as it keeps the spatula from touching the counter. The only complaint I have is that it is not quite as flexible as I thought it might be. It's somewhat stiff and not easy to use in a smaller skillet (less than say, 12"), although I have used it to flip fish in a 8" skillet without too much trouble - I just had to bear down on it a bit for it to bend. On a grill or larger skillet it is just right. The thickness is fine for most cooking applications. Although I wish it had a bit more 'give', I like it...very substantial compared to most spatulas out there that wear out quickly. This thing will last a lifetime. Even if you prefer something a tad more flexible for certain uses, you will definitely put this spatula to good use in the kitchen.

What’s not to love? Simple, strong and built to last. The long handle really helps give nice reach. Spatula is nice and thin at the edge but very strong. Sits on part of the built in handle so that it stays off the surface where it has been set down.

I bought two spatula/fish turners in this purchase. A high end Wustof, as i am a big fan and had great luck with the brand, and the Toadfish spatula as well. At first i was apprehensive as it was much heavier and longer than the Wustof, but it ended up be quite comfortable. The build quality is excellent and the flexabilty of the spatula blade is simply perfect. I've used it several times and love it. I hope it stands the test of time as it is now my favorite flipper, i will look for more from Toadfish as it seems to be a great valued brannd.

I am so glad I bought this spatula as I can easily get under delicate fish fillets and turn them effortlessly! I have a large gas flat griddle top that I cook on often and this spatula doesn't tear or break off pieces leaving part of it on the griddle. It also works great for eggs, French toast, boneless pork chops, chicken breasts, hamburger etc. You will love this spatula and when you set it down it has a raised portion under the handle, so it rests on this and the flat spatula part sits up higher and doesn't touch the table or surface you set it down on so it doesn't make a mess! I would recommend this spatula to everyone who needs a high quality tool to get under the protein they cook cleanly and proficiently! Just get one!
