Thin but rich volume, well made
At about 75 pages, this hardcover is a thin one, but beautifully made, with a linen textured cover and kind of glazed lettering on the front, and it rests comfortably inside the Forbidden Lands core box. The first of the book's four Adventure Sites, "The Spire of Quetzel" is really pretty amazing, a little like Numenera's "Jade Colosus" mixed with Fantasy AGE's "Titansgrave," and a bit of classic dungeon crawl -- but with twists that feel wholly original. The FL system is just light enough to give you the sparks of a great adventure, leaving the real meat of it to you and your players. Unlike D&D, say, where you're often working through a large adventure in an established world, here there's the feeling that you really are creating something new with your players, and anything could happen, should they survive. Highly recommended little pub here, and I can't wait to give these adventures a go.
Q**A
Nice book but a little light.
Cool book, cool content, a bit light on content, however, for the price.
