I live in the country and have a well. When I bought the property I had my water tested and it tested safe. After seeing dirty, rusty water in bathtub and clogged sprinkler heads, I was doubtful. I purchased this tester after reviewing many others. My water tested 1100 ppm. Anything above 500 should not be consumed. Filter pitchers brought it down to 980 ppm. I purchased a distiller and now consume water that is 11 ppm. Great investment and very reasonable $$.

How annoying. The item arrived and there was no battery. The instructons don't even say what kind of battery is needed, though the Amazon listing does show the battery and what kind it is. But how cheap can they be not including the battery that the listing promises? I don't happen to have that size battery at home and so I haven't been able to use the product. For all I know, it works fine, but I've given it two stars out of sheer annoyance that they didn't send me what I need to find out for myself.

I'd like to give a good review, but it came w/o a battery. I installed my own battery, It works, Cold tap water reads 80 deg. F. 100 deg. F tap water reads 91 deg. F. Cheap is cheap, I'm returning it.

I sent this water tester to my daughter in Germany to test her drinking water. She tried turning it on and it didn't work at all. Would be unfit if the device was shipped with a faulty battery. It took quite awhile to ship to Germany, thus the replacement/return window has passed.If it can be replaced, I would very much appreciate it!!Thank you!Mary Louise Nielson

There is nothing like streamline maximum functionality in a product. This meter is exactly that. Wasted money on a filter system that was doing nothing and this meter helped me prove the ineffectiveness of that system and get my money back.Now I have a system that works.

It arrived earlier than scheduled. Has a nice case. The instructions are in 3 languages. But that’s it. I couldn’t figure out how to read it, it was flashing things that were not in the instructions, and it wouldn’t turn off. Useless to me.

Works as well as lower priced units. However it doesn’t have a place to store the cap while the unit is in use.

This one is what I need to monitor my water purification system. I’ve no idea when do I need to replace the filters without it. To make test it’s accuracy, I used distilled water. The number is 2 and similar to the number on the distilled water making machine
