Spontex Specialist Heavy Duty Scourer Pads (Pack of 10)

Hubby is making a railway layout and wanted these to dip in flock and make hedges ... because these are so long they are perfect.

This item is becoming harder to find, and whilst it works well on dishes, as a sandpaper for preparing surfaces for painting, I cannot find anything with this items flexibility and abilities. For example, pressing hard whilst sanding means it acts as a course sandpaper and light pressure removes slight blemishes of paint during coats.Wash after each use and the item lasts 20 times longer than any sandpaper I have ever used.

A bit disappointed that these scourers are not as abrasive as I had hoped. They are fine when you first use them but like so many others they seem to lose their stiffness after a few swirls in hot water and lose their real scouring power. I realise that scourers are made to avoid damaging the items they are meant to clean but there are some pots and pans that require harsher treatment and I had hoped these scourers would do the trick. You might say that I could use a branded soap filled pad to clean the pans but these destroy the washing up liquid and make the water look pink and scummy so I would prefer a scourer suitable for all tasks that doesn't make the water mucky.

Great value for money as they are twice the size you get in the shops I have cut mine in half so they work out cost wise the same as shops but they are much better quality so thick they will last ages.

Very pleased with these. A bit thicker/stronger than the supermarket equivalents I’ve used.Large so I cut in two and use to clean pans etc.<thumbs up>
