worked well, turkey got brined properly.
use in cold water, submerge the turkey in the mix of water with contents of this item. if turkey sticks out of the water, flip the following day in the kitchen sink- do not flip on the counter, it will get out and you will be cleaning kitchen floors. brine for at least 24 hours or more. following day after you flip it brine for 30 minutes more. discard liquid and roast the turkey.

Excellent Brine Mix for Salmon & Steel Head
I had a friend several years ago turn me on to some of the best Steel Head I had ever eaten. He gave me the recipe but I lost it. Fortunately, this recipe from Smokehouse is exactly the same. If you like Smoked Salmon, or Steel Head, then this is one of the best recipes for curing and smoking I have tasted or used. This package contains enough mix for 15lbs of fish. Whether you cold smoke, smoke it by heat and smoke. Or on a grill. The directions state the following"After you mix the contents with 2 quarts of water, soak the fish for 8-12 hrs. Stirring and rotating the fish occasionally. Then remove the fish, pat dry, let the fish air dry until the surface has a sort of glaze. Then smoke. Smoking times vary between 8-12 hours, depending on your method, and the heat.I've smoked a lot of Steel Head and other varieties of Salmon using this mixture. Haven't had anyone yet not like it that I served it to. I love it. Very glad I was able to find it here on Amazon. Great product, and great price.

For what it made I had plenty left over to store and put into a jar for later use. Just needed a quart jar.

Way too much!
Ordered 4 packs back in the spring of 23 for 6 bucks each. I thought they were getting a little greedy then for some sugar and salt. At 12 bucks each, they can keep it.
