Very clean cutting
Work great with an old bit brace with an adapter. Very aggressive with a power drill - you need to really control them with power tools.

This is the auger bit for woodworkers
It drills very smooth, effortless 3/4 inch holes for an auger bit. I was drilling holes in a 6” thick hardwood work bench top. I tried a brad point, Irwin speedbor auger, and the wood owl. The wood owl outperform all of them. I was surprised it did better that the brad but the brad took a lot of force to push without a drill press and wasn’t as smooth a cut in the end. I wish I had started with the wood owl. The hex shank is a littler larger than the standard 1/4” but it works as a round shank as well, which is how I used it. Fantastic bit.

What’s not to love?
It cuts fast and clean. Better than a spade bit. If you need to cut a 3/4” hole fast and cleanly, use this over a spade bit.

Quality Tool
Very sharp and fast boring. I used a corded 1/2” chuck with low rotation speed and high torque drill.It bored cleanly through a sold, 2” thick white oak shelf.

Drills clean holes and almost effortlessly
I was drilling 2" maple with a 3/4" drill, and a lot of them. First I tried with a forstner bit and it was slow and a lot of effort. Then I bought this drill bit and I couldn't believe how quickly and effortlessly I could drill through. So easy I added additional holes in my work bench top. The holes were clean and neat. Even the wood chips it made were nice looking and consistent. 6 stars, ☆☆☆☆☆☆. Nicest thing I have bought in a long time.

Good - too aggressive for a drill press
Good - too aggressive for a drill press. Bores a clean hole, but the screw point is too aggressive for accurate/slow boring using a drill press, it was too aggressive and pulled too fast into the wood (pulling the whole chuck out). I solved the problem by filing/grinding down the screw threads and it now works great for my application (hold fast holes in workbench leg/top). As an aside, i have a new JET full size drill press.

Amazing
I remember seeing these years ago and finally remembered the name! I have it attached to my dewalt 60v drill and it just powers through with ease like butter! It’s also very lite. Highly recommend

The Best for 3/4” Holdfasts
I bought this for making holdfast holes in my workbench. This bit made every hole clean and precise. Could not be happier and bought another in 5/8” for a different project.
