The Mysteries of Udolpho (Illustrated Edition) Kindle Edition

A beautifully written gothic novel. Full of vivid descriptions and suspense, romance and valor. Loved going back in time for awhile.

I'm really trying to read this book, not only because it's said to be a classic of gothic, but for being mentioned in a Jane Austen's book. I was curious. The problem is that it's excessively boring. Maybe I could ignore the outdated language and style - as long as it didn't mean reading 650 pages. We can stand maybe 200 pages of long descriptions, drama and moral exortations, but not 650. Maybe. I'm not sure I will finish it.

A fantastic classic gothic novel. Would recommend for fans of Jane Austen!

Worth reading as a wonderful example of early gothic
