When I received this book, my son was very interested in reading it. He loves reading books with fun facts and interesting tidbits. He read this very quickly, and commented on how nice it was to read and learn new things without being burdened with a ton of details or words that were difficult to understand. Even our 7 year old daughter has read bits and pieces of it, admiring the pictures and just being proud that she read something her older brother has read. All 4 of my children have read this, with 2 of them having read it again.I've read it myself and enjoyed it. The pictures are nice and clear. Reading it is easy and fun. It was written in a more organized manner, with subjects/ideas grouped together. The print itself was nice and big enough without having to strain to read it.

Created by Lonely Planet Kids, it is organized in an interesting way. A single topic heads a chapter, and facts from all over the world fill that chapter’s pages. For example, there are sections about nature around the world, government and politics around the world, religion and faith around the world, school and work around the world, and arts and entertainment around the world. There are also chapters on transportation and communication, food and drink, stages in life, government and politics, holidays and celebrations, and people and culture. This book begins with a section about the diversity of the nations of the world. It concludes with online and print sources where more interesting facts may be found. This is a wonderful and entertaining book.I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book is fascinating for adults as well as kids. The facts are presented in short paragraphs so you can read as much or as little as you like. The facts are grouped by topic such as sports, food, art, people, nature, etc. There are lots of pictures. The pages are glossy and colorful.5 STARS: My daughter thought it was cool. She often prefers reading facts to fiction so this was right up her ally. I also found it fun to read. It doesn’t have to be read in any specific order so I skipped around and read various facts on different subjects. I noticed my daughter had placed a bookmark in the book as if she plans to read it straight through.

Let me just say that my son has really enjoyed this book with his babysitters over the past week. The book has lots of fun information that will be even more useful as he grows up. Right now hes very interested in the pictures and asks a lot of questions; but since he cannot read yet he has to sit with someone to read to him.I recommend this book for every parent; its important for your kids to know facts about our world today. Too many kids are uneducated and lost in their tablets just watching mindless content. This book is the absolute opposite of that.Please invest a bit in your child's future and pick up this book; you won't regret it. My kids will be using this book for years to come. "The Big World of Fun Facts (Lonely Planet Kids)" is a fun way to past time. It is advertised in that it is filled with facts but not the usual topics. It covers topics of superstition, food, voting from space, etc. It is unexpected and at times, not politically correct for some but it is eye-opening. The photographs are big and engage the eye. The write ups are meant to keep the attention where one can open any page and start reading right away. As enjoyable as the family found it, I would say that it is best for children to read with adults. There are some topics that will open discussion and the child may have questions.

This is purchased with the intention of being a gift for my teenage son. He is very curious about the world, and watches the History channel and National Geographic.This book is written in very large font with tons of pictures. It is hard cover and large in a 9 x 12 inch format. It is clearly written for those people who want to learn about the world. the book wants to surprise us and teach us about different cultures.I am sure that this book open my son’s perspective on the world.

I love for the kids to have books that not only captivate their attention but also helps them learn. I have boys and they need their attention to be held when they read a book. This book with the colorful pictures and block style information holds and keeps their attention.The book is done so well from the hardback cover to the arrangement of pictures and information inside.

This book is AWESOME!My twins (7 year old boys) LOVE random facts of knowledge and this book is all about thatIt's easy to read... regardless of your age!Not gonna lie...I've been enjoying these tidbits of knowledge as well. Who knows ... my kids may wind up on jeopardy after this!
