Sofar so good
Sofar so good, used about 6 times this winter here in VA. All used on mud and snow covered trails, winch preformed flawlessly. The best part was it didn't sound like it was going to eat its self like my old X-bull. Was going to get the Apex winch until I found about the 90 day warranty, so in my area that winch is 599.99 plus 180+ for extended 2yr warranty thats Waren entry winch range. Openroad made more sense to me with their warranty. Sofar so good, no dramas mate.

Missing parts
Winch arrived on time and in perfect condition by Amazon. Way to go Amazon !!Packaging is pretty decent, much better then usual for heavy items.Overall the winch appears to be a decent winch and one that would hold up and do it's job. Unfortunately, that is where the good ends. To start the circuit breakers & mounting bolts were missing. Should have been an easy fix for the seller to just send a new breaker. Their response though gives serious doubt to their ability to stand by their product, and the description they include in all their items for sale. Seller responded that Amazon is responsible for replacing missing parts. We all know that isn't true and all Amazon will do is either replace the whole thing or refund. It is worth noting that this was purchased from the sellers Amazon store, just shipped by Amazon. They also have a web site, which had I checked to start I wouldn't have purchased this winch. Seller lists an Amazon warehouse on their web site as their US address. Big red flag there as it is an indication they are just a seller in China. Nothing wrong with that, but at least be upfront & honest instead of making it look like you have an office in US, when in fact you do not.Anyway, contacting Amazon support (which is always great) they offered to replace or refund. I opted for a replacement with UPS pickup. Will see if the new one includes the circuit breaker if not, it will go back for another replacement until one is included in the box. Seller could have saved themselves some issues by just sending a $20 breaker, but they chose to ignore the support issue.I have serious doubts that this winch will last more then a couple of pulls. The control box, while it does have a rubber seal, isn't that good of one so it is not really waterproof rated but more like water resistant. The power button on the side is also not gasketed, which means water will get into the control box via the button. It wont keep even rain out over time. This will lead to rust & a failure of the relay, most likely when you really need it to work.I'll update the review once I am able to get it installed....of course with a circuit breaker...that is if it is even included in the next box (doubtful).Update to review:Received 2nd winch which also did not include the breaker advertised in the description or pictures. Received a discount so this could be ordered separately from a different vendor. On to the install. Few pieces of advice. Connect the ground wires for the battery and the wireless module BEFORE mounting the winch to the bumper. The mounting stud is on the underneath of the motor and a pain to get to once installed. Next item install, mount & bolt down the fairlead. Finally, if you can remove your bumper and then mount & bolt on the winch this will make things much easier. At least on a Jeep Wrangler TJ. This may not be necessary with other makes & models. The positive and ground cables are long enough when installing on a TJ. Everything is pretty straight forward and mounts up to standard winch mounting pattern.Mounting the control box though, ran into another issue. The holes to screw the back brackets to the winch are too far down in the bracket. What you need to do is either drill & tap new holes or lift the back of the control box up at an angle and screw in the supplied screws. This will put pressure against the winch to keep the control box tight. Not ideal as it will scratch the paint when doing this and eventually cause a couple rust spots, but it does keep the control box secured....at least for now. I also moved the control box all the way over to the left to give the wires some additional slack as the red wire is a little too short to keep it in the middle without too much tension.Final item I did was to put some dielectric greese on the connectors for the wired control. This is just a precaution to help keep out water. The cover will take care of this but it's just an additional precaution that can't hurt.Depending on your install you may want to have some zip ties or wire loom for the power & ground battery cables, but this is more a personal preference.Overall I give this a 2 1/2 stars. Time will tell if this winch will hold up and pull it's capacity. Reason for not giving it more stars is that it did not come as advertised. I have absolutely no doubt that any winch from OpenRoad would include the breaker as they advertise, let alone it being rated for 500amp (one in picture is a standard 150amp breaker). Customer service is responsive now.I would buy another one knowing what I now now but would only purchase if the price was better.OpenRoad does have some good products. They have a set of traction ramps that are top notch. If you need some, check them out. Just used them over the weekend with a Ram 2500 and they held the weight of the front of that tuck without any problems.

Worked great for moving 40 ft shipping container
I liked that it came with a remote. The remotes should have hook and loop or magnets on them. I lost one so good thing there is 2.
