Very helpful!
We are green to the broiler world. We bought this book to prep us for our first flock of broilers and it has proven priceless. We've had our chicks for a couple weeks and so far, so good. Its an easy, quick read and includes some incredible recipes. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended
Excellent information, we have layers that are my wife's pets and were thinking about starting a second flock for meat. This book answered all our questions, even if you are unfamiliar with chickens all the pertinent information is there.

Half information, half cook book
I learned a little bit from this book and it was well written and easy to read, but only half the book is actual chicken selecting, raising and harvesting information. The second half is just recipes (which do look delicious). I was disappointed that the book didn't go more in-depth into certain aspects of the process but it would definitely be a helpful book to someone with no knowledge about raising chickens.

From ordering to cooking, and so very much in between
This is our very first time ever raising meat birds and I am so thankful to have Michelle "holding my hand" through every step of the process. She so knowledgable and gives great insights, and I feel like our family is tackling this right alongside Michelle's family. My meat birds are super happy now, at 4 weeks old, and I can't wait until we have processed them (Michelle walks you through every thing you need to know about butchering) and get to try out Michelle's many wonderful recipes... Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread Pizza, Creamy Chicken Tortellini Soup, Chicken Fajitas, and Chicken Pot Pie are all first on my list. Mmmmmmm.

A great resource to add to your homestead library!
If you are wanting to raise chickens for meat, then Michelle's book is the perfect guide! She discusses everything from selecting breeds to feeding and caring for chickens, the butchering process and farm to table recipes! Her book definitely answered a lot of questions for me and even though I'm not raising animals for meat yet, I definitely feel more prepared after reading her book. Her brutal honesty and the experiences she shared are a must read! I would definitely recommend buying this book.

$17 cookbook/picture book
Nearly 57% of the book are recipes and photographs. I counted so you didn’t have to. The photographs do not add any instruction to the covered topics but are merely glamor shots by the author. What’s left of the book is basic information that most readers could glean from common sense and a few internet searches. 54 of the 134 pages of actual book (not including front or back matter such as index and “about the author” section) is just the cookbook section. What a crock. I returned this book.

Okay
It was OK I am some good information in it but mostly just talking about raising chickens from their perspective we were looking for something a little different
