Item as described
It definitely does the job but depending on size of saw it is definitely a workout and assembly is kind of brief on instructions that come with package, but I was running an MS 290 with a 25 inch bar and it seemed not to fail at all, it’s definitely a work out and two people or a police system to push the saw through the log is definitely needed other than that it’s definitely done it’s job

Buy something that has warranty or at least replacement parts available.
Bought with the auxiliary oiler and winch. Was never able to figure out the winch. Auxiliary oiler weld broke before even assembled. Used saw mill less than two hours already have multiple broken parts and welds. Bolts are supposedly 11mm but even the tool that comes with it is a loose fit and will easily strip it. Can’t find replacement parts. Looks nice but very low quality compared to the 5 other brands I bought.

Sturdy and Simple to use
Assembly was simple using instructions found online. So far have only made a few cuts but everything has worked great. Waiting on a longer bar.

Great tool for the price
This tool works great on my 20" Poulan Pro chainsaw. Now I just wish I had a bigger saw! Hopefully soon.

How to use the sawmill
I like the saw mill and its easy to use, how ever the directions were un clear when it came to assembling it i actually had to lview the picture on Amazon, zoom in on it so as to see how it should go together. One of the bolts was stripped. I replaced the bolt from the store thats an easy fix. Have to make sure that while you're milling, that you check the bolts, as the they to rattle loose. So you may have to stop from time to time while milling to check the bolts. It would have been better with some instructions on how to be more effective with the sawmill so you can see how to use it, once it was complete. Should you use rails, don't use rails. This type of information would have been helpful. I gave it 4 stars, because it does work, I'm having fun with it and figuring things out as I go along. I personally enjoy that and getting to play with it so as to work out any bugs, doesn't bother me. But someone else, could be disappointing.

Poor quality control and it broke the first time I used it
I put this together (poor instructions, but looking at photos of it assembled helps a lot) and noticed that the quality control isn't great - the welds are inconsistent at best, and really could have used some more attention with a grinder. The plates that clamp onto the nose of the chainsaw were out of alignment by a significant amount and not perfectly level (see picture). The rulers on the posts to get the right depth of cut were nice, but they were off by about 1/4" from each other. Despite the warning signs of poor craftsmanship, I moved ahead since I had that Saturday reserved for milling some wood.I used this with a Stihl 661 (plenty of power) with a 32" bar and a brand new Oregon ripping chain and used a metal frame to slide it on (which worked really well). I started on an 18" x 9' oak log and the first cut went pretty well. During the second cut, the nose slipped a little bit where the plates are misaligned and not flat. I re-positioned them, tightened the bolts and got through the second and third cut. During the fourth cut, one off the bolts clamping the rear part of the bar (where the bar connects to the chainsaw body) snapped and the chainsaw slid into the metal. This snapped off two of the teeth and significantly dulled the rest of my new blade. I ground off the broken teeth, sharpened the dull teeth, got a replacement bolt (took a trip to the local bix box store), reassembled everything, and tried again (sometimes, I'm a sucker for punishment). From there on out, the nose clamp kept slipping every foot or two of log that I cut and I couldn't get it to work reliably anymore. After finishing the fourth cut, I got halfway through cut five and finally called it quits. I spent about six hours and milled approximately 40 feet of board - a pretty dismal showing for my Saturday project.Others have had a good experience with this, so it probably is just rolling the dice if you get a well-built mill. It's also cumbersome to use and I'm sure other chainsaw mills have easier ways of getting the depth level. I shouldn't have gone with a cheap mill. I've decided that I won't be using it anymore and will see if the seller will let me return it.UPDATE: The seller stood by their product and offered an exchange or refund, so I added a star to 3. I still probably wouldn't gamble on this again, but it's nice to see them be very helpful.

Great mill for the money
Great mill! Would have given 5 stars, but the bolts are cheap. A couple of them stripped out within a couple uses. And they are metric with a weird thread size, so they were kind of hard to find. And you you have to use the same bolts because the nuts are welded on to the mill. But other than that it works great, is light, and pretty darn accurate. Screw granberg and all thoseOther over priced brands, this is just as good if not better
