Goes the distance
I bought this pocket pedometer along with this book - 10,000 Steps a Day to Your Optimal Weight: Walk Your Way to Better Health . Back in October (2013) I was diagnosed as having type-2 diabetes and as part of my management program I started walking in the afternoon. Plus I figured it would be a good way to maybe lose a few pounds (which my doctor encouraged). With the exception of a few days over the holidays I have kept to my goal and walked for 30-minutes every day. I've found this pedometer a great source of motivation - and for keeping track of all the steps that I take in a day. I very rarely get to 10,000 steps - but there are days that I come close. I have my meter set for a daily goal of 6,000 steps can usually achieve that. This meter is simple to use - I just throw it in a pocket in the morning and keep it there for the rest of the day. I like that it also displays the time and use it as a pocket watch too. Once or twice a week I plug it into my computer and upload the data to the software that comes with the device. The software is very easy to use - and it keeps track of your records. You can look at individual days, or weeks, or months. The device can store a week (7-days) of data, so really all you need to do is upload once a week.Like I mentioned, I've been carrying one of these pedometers around in my pants pocket every day for about three months. The meter is starting to show a bit of wear - the cap that fits over the USB plug has gotten to be loose. The outer plastic casing is getting pretty scratched up. The device still works fine, it's more of a cosmetic issue. I may end up purchasing another one near the end of the year.Setting up this meter was really easy - I think you can do it with the buttons on the back of the device, but I found it easier to use the software. Main thing you have to set is your stride - how long each of your step is. The instruction sheet shows you how to get that measurement. You can also set a daily goal, and the meter shows your progress toward that as a bar graph.I originally picked this meter at random from the large selection of such devices here at Amazon, but after three months of use I think I made a good choice and would recommended it.

Don't waste your money
I bought this pedometer for the usb functionality. Either I got a "lemon" or they are all junk. Mine worked for about a day and then I noticed it would freeze and not wake up and I would have to reset it (zero-ing out the totals and starting over) Replaced the battery (even though it didn't show low battery warning) and it worked as it should for about 3 days and then started doing the same thing all over again. I am living out of the country right now so I've wasted the original purchase and shipping to my US address plus the forwarding to another country. I'd rather throw it against the wall then spend more money to send it back. If the mfg wants to satisfy this customer they can send me a replacement on their dime. Contact me for the address. Cheers

Sounds good. It's not.
This appears to be a great unit at a great price. WRONG!!! It worked for me excellently for about a month then got the blank screan of death. Bought a new battery. Worked another week and again. Unit resets ok but what good is that as all the data goes away.I see now why they are so cheap.

Beware No CLIP included.
Does not come with a clip to keep it on you. Other than that it calculates good. I just don't know where to put it if I don't have belt loops or something to tie it on to.

Great Googlii Mooglii
I have had this unit for almost a month. So far so good! The software loaded easily and the first menu gives you a choice of how you want the data displayed. Then you enter Height, weight, age, sex, and steps you want to acomplish per day. The Tri-Axis technology works well no matter where you keep the unit!In a pocket , around your neck etc.The end cap pulls off so you can plug (USB) into your computer and download. It is the most accurate pedometer I have ever used, I had been using Omron but I had too many issues,if I do have issues I will update or add a review.Only problem I have had is programing buttons are all in a row they are small an on the back of the unit. Otherwise I would have given this item a 5 star rating. It was still easy to set up the unit for operation. I hope this is helpful to someone out there...good day.

GREAT STEP COUNTER!!!
After reading many reviews on different step counters, I decided to go with this one. I waited to write my review because I wanted to see the longevity of the product. I have had this stepper on me for 4 months now, and I absolutely love it. It is very accurate in counting your steps, even when walking on a treadmill. Its not like those other cheep steppers where if you shake it hard it starts counting your steps. This stepper waits until you have taken at least 10 steps to start counting them and adding them to your count, this way if you happen to giggle it around a bit you wont have to worry about miss counted steps. It also has a memory so if you are doing the 10,000 step challenge like I am, you can track your weeks progress and see how far you have gone. There are many great features that come along with this tiny stepper. Its a great value for the price, and would recommend this to anyone that wants a stepper for everyday use

Awful
Save your money and buy a FitBit. You won't regret it. The FitBit, you just open it and go basically. It's hard enough for me to find the time to workout and get my steps in everyday, I hated the time it took each day messing with this thing. If you're one of those people that just love pressing buttons and messing with electronics all day, go for it. If you're more into working out and tracking your progress simply, buy a FitBit.

Doesn't work right
It adds steps when I'm not even walking. I put it in my pocket while driving and I gain steps.
