I understand that you get what you pay for, but the price for this coffee is a bit high. The taste is amazing and one of a kind!

Coffee is normally best had within three months of its roasting date, though six or twelve isn't a problem for cheaper coffees you aren't buying for the flavor. Kau coffee, being a cheaper alternative to the very expensive Kona coffee, is not something you buy just to drink, but to enjoy as a treat. So to find that I'd received a bag over four months past its use by date spooked me.I did a bit of research to find the date of roasting, and my bag was over 16 months past its roasting date, as the manufacturer sets the best by date to twelve months after roasting. I decided to try grinding and brewing a cup anyways, and the wonderful flavors were drowned out by the staleness of the beans. Had this of been fresh, I can say this would have been a superb brew, as I could taste the wonderful flavors that were promised... just, entirely drowned out by the fact that the coffee was too old to use.I'm very certain that if I ordered straight from the manufacturer that this would have been the best cup of coffee I've ever had. However, it's best to let the stock Amazon has left get properly disposed of, as I'm certainly not the first to complain about the coffee being stale!

Beans were stale and dry. When ground, they gave a sad light brown appearance. Flavor was bland but, still somewhat smooth. Will not purchase again.
