A very heavy product, but a bear to put ...
A very heavy product, but a bear to put together. Instructions are not very clear and pictures are too small to make out. Going to have to weight this down (even though it was 140 lbs) as a wind blew it over. Haven't used it yet for target practice, but it should definitely catch the bullets!

Yes it stops most pistol caliber ammo
The trap worked as advertised. If you're outside city limits and you can hit a standard size silhouette target this might be a consideration. It would be great as a stationary target; however, the leg assembly would need some reinforcement if you plan on moving it assembled especially if you're going across the grass. As far as the little swivel wheels, great for concrete, not worth a darn on grass or gravel - they are way to small -- I'll keep them in my parts drawer. I decided to move it basically unassembled on a good size cart and then assemble it on site. The trap stopped .380 ACP, 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 38 SPL +P, and 357 Mag - don't use pistol calibers greater than 357 Mag or any center fire rifle calibers. The only round that dented the back panel was the 357 Mag. I was about 7-8 yards away and put about 20 rds per caliber of practice ammo into it. The wood chips and bullet debris was easily cleaned up. I wish the leg or stand assembly was stronger; but, that would drive the cost up; so, I'll live with it and keep the unit. Oh yeah, on a windy day, you'll need to stake it down. If you're willing the accept weak stand, then i would recommend it.

The stand is very sturdy, simple to assemble without tools
I purchased this bullet catch primarily to recover the boolits and recast them again. It also provides a safe way to trap rounds and keep lead out of the field behind it. The stand is very sturdy, simple to assemble without tools. I do not plan to move the stand with the casters, its stationary with a large hillside behind it. As for wind, its never moved. Its heavy and is stable as long as the earth below it is level. I've blasted away at it with various pistol calibers from .22LR through .44 special. There are pistol rounds that are not suitable that may damage the rear strike plate, they include 10mm .357 and .44 mag(and of course larger). Follow Ocken's advise and the stand will hold up as advertised. I recover most of the lead projectiles in the lower tray and can easily sort through it by separating the wood chips in a 5 gallon bucket of water. The board itself can withstand a fair amount of rounds, I simply staple targets in the same place every time. All bullets have deflected nicely off the plate and downwards into the tray. I would highly recommend this, it not only serves as a nice stand to staple your paper targets too, but also as an easy recovery if you cast and reload, and contains from ricochets. The included cover is durable, and keeps the upper half of the catch dry so you can leave you paper targets.

Great but Check it when it arrives
I purchased one of these and it was damaged in shipping. The company was great with replacing what was damaged. I agree the legs are the weakest part of this and the wheels are just to small to be of any value. I paid extra for the wheels and I am going to remove them, mount the bottom of the legs to some 3/4 inch OSB and mount some 4 inch wheels I have. Also I am going to replace the hand nuts with some lock nuts so I can tighten them with a wrench.I and my friends have put hundreds of pistol rounds into it and it stops them all with no dents. I will say it leaks lead and wood pieces where ever it sits when being shot at. I think it was sprung out of square when it was damaged in the shipping.I think the unit was worth the price (to me its expensive) but I would want to say if its damaged do not accept it, refuse it and send it back. The problems I have with mine I think was due to the damage in the shipping. If I needed another one I would buy another one of these. Just make sure its 100% when It arrives.

Sturdy and worth the expense!
This was the missing element in my shooting PCPS. Easy to assemble, a little difficult to move but it's going to stay where it's been set. The south and west winds don't move it. I have a good feeling about not spewing lead in our back forty now that I'm putting my lead into the bullet pan. This is great for those who live in the country. Well worth the money.
