This is an AMAZING book! I have bought various books just to get my 13 year old daughter interested. None of them sparked her interest. I even tried reading them to her with enthusiasm. She just looked at me. I begin searching for a book that she would be interested in and boost her confidence. From a very young aged she’s been teased about the color of her skin, and called horrible names in her school. I came across this book and OMG she is in love with this book. She has even said it. She said she wants to take her time and read it because she doesn’t want it to end. It makes her think about real , and important things, along with encouraging her.PAll young black girls should read this book, and if they can’t read it, read it too them.

Bought this for my daughter as a gift. She struggles with finding her self esteem. She isn't a big reader but she read this book in 3 days. She loved it so much she asked to get other books from this author. She has started to step out of her comfort zone since reading this.

What an amazing book for young black girls. This was bought as a birthday gift for my newly teenaged daughter. This book is truly a gem and I suggest if you want to inform or uplift yourself or daughter as a black women this is the book for you!
