This is the real thing, the wild rice I remember buying when I lived in the Midwest!
I love love love wild rice, as does my family. When I lived in the upper Midwest it was very easy to find in my local grocery store for a reasonable price. Since moving to California 5 years ago, it has been nearly impossible to find except as a blend (which I've tried but doesn't cook right, white rice grains are mushy when the brown and wild rice grains are properly cooked), or it is extremely expensive. This wild rice is exactly as I remember it and for a good price.Five pounds of wild rice is a lot but it comes in its own nice zipper seal bag and keeps well in an airtight container. I usually cook a large batch as it reheats nicely or I use leftovers to make a cold salad (2 cups already cooked wild rice, 1 chopped avocado, 2 chopped plum tomatoes, 2 diced shallots, 1 minced jalapeno, 1/4 cup rice vinegar, juice of a lime, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 Tb EVOO, and chopped cilantro to taste; mix and chill a couple hours before serving -- yum!).

I love real wild rice
I love real wild rice, not those mixtures that are called "wild rice" but contain very little actual wild rice.Wild rice is not really rice so do not compare the cost just enjoy it all by itself. Its almost impossible to over cook it. Use it any way you can think of.Plain with salt & pepper, butter; in stews and soupw; served cold in salad or mixes with nuts & fruits; with eggs for breakfast; in turkey dressing;Really it is totally versatile. I don't consider it rice and I don't mind the expense. Trader Joes is the cheapest but they don't ship.

Great flavor and texture.
Great flavor with no foreign "bits" in it. After rinsing I pour boiling water on the rice and bring the pot to a boil then turn the heat off. I then let it sit for 24 hours. It plumps up beautifully and I don't have to cook it at all. Nice, firm texture and wonderful flavor.

WHen is rice, not rice.
Always loved wild rice. When I saw it's nutritional qualities, including the low carb, non-gluten aspects, I decided to indulge. Very happy I did. Nutty flavor, great texture, many recipe options. This is my new "go-to" food. No guilt, lots of benefits, and it's HEALTHY!

Beautiful wild rice at a reasonable price
Beautiful wild rice at a reasonable price. I use it for my world famous (OK, maybe only famous amongst my family and friends) smoked turkey and wild rice soup. I make it by the gallons so I was pleased to find wild rice in bulk.

Best wild rice I've had.
Best wild rice I've ever had. And it better be because it is also certainly the most expensive. Nothing better than to top a cooked cup of this with 7oz wild caught pan fried salmon. Add the hot sauce and it's on. I recommend a rice cooker and use 3:1 ratio of water to rice. It'll take an hour to cook and then let it sit in the cooker without opening it for another 15 to 30 minutes. Perfect everytime. For a little more flavor make 1/3 of the liquid a stock.

Excellent quality and price
You can't beat this. If you don't have access to a region specific , fresh market, then you're paying too much for wild rice. This is market price, with free prime delivery. A new staple in this house.

I never liked or prepared wild rice until now
I never liked or prepared wild rice until now. In order to eliminate gluten and excess glucose out of my diet I decided to "bite the bullet", and try, again wild rice. What a pleasant surprise for me, when I ate this product. I'm about to purchase this again. Great in soups.
