Works and looks great

Good product. Hard to latch when screwed down. Springs do not hold door up. but keeps radio dry. Good for the price.

Perfect
Best radio cover we've had yet. And the flipping up face makes it less likely to break as our previous ones flipped down.

the open & close tab is a little hard to use. real close to console, but the guard isn't very deep, but covers radio well.

Junk
I searched and searched for a marine enclosure like I bought years ago for my SxS but found it was no longer available in the color black. So I decided to go with this one as it didn't have any bad reviews but it looked exactly like other enclosures that had terrible reviews. I believe now that this one is the same junk as the ones it looks like. First off it is just made cheap. It came prewired and where the wires go out through the housing, it wasn't sealed at all. It looks as though someone tried to seal it but gave zero effort to do so. The wires were also of a very small gauge so I replaced them and sealed them in. Next where the covered faceplate goes on to the housing it is just horrid, the posts where it screws on to is flimsy and I can't believe they didn't break when I screwed the screws in. There is a rubber/plastic gasket that goes between the faceplate and the housing.I would be impressed if this seals anything out from getting into the housing.I didn't want to silicon it either in case I ever need to get back in there. After seeing this I went ahead and drilled some small drain holes into the bottom of the housing just in case water entered so at least it could get out. Now the best part is the faceplate itself. The seal looks to be rubber and that is a plus but unfortunately the snap to hold the faceplate closed doesn't hold. Well in the box comes a foam gasket (no instructions as to where it goes), so I took the rubber gasket off and put this foam gasket in it's place. The faceplate now stays closed but the foam gasket is to thin and doesn't even seal the space between the housing and faceplate. So I went and bought some foam tape at a local hardware store. Now I have to come up with a way to keep the faceplate closed and sealed. The hinges are plastic and I don't foresee them lasting to long.Beware if you buy anything that looks like this piece of junk.
