Wonderful for school counselors or teachers
As a school counselor, I love using this book in small groups or classrooms to discuss kind words. It lends itself well to discussion or follow-up activities. The illustrations are wonderful. Children are able to relate to the storyline and the lessons learned.

Wonderful message
My son is six and is at the age where he is trying to be a perfectionist. I appreciate the light playful way the author approaches the importance of trying your best and understanding that our mistakes are life lessons.

Fun to read - awesome message for kids.
My family LOVES this book. We read it every night before bed. My four year old has all the words memorized! The story is so sweet and teaches an awesome message about being careful with our words. The words and pictures are very engaging for my kids. It's a simple story with a powerful message and BEAUTIFUL illustrations. This book will be my go to gift for all the kids in my life for sure.

Fantastic!
Bought this for my young daughter who was getting in the habit of saying mean things. She enjoys listening to it, and now when she gets in a funk with being unkind I tell her to taste her words and she knows exactly what I mean. Nice pictures, nice story, definitely recommend :)

Modern Day Story for the Lifelong Struggle: Power of Words
An incredibly timely lesson for all ages, Taste Your Words is a lovely book for helping to realize the weight of words. Beautifully written and illustrated to tell the story of the importance of changing hurtful words into encouraging words. Modern day story for a lifelong struggle: choosing which power you will yield by the words you choose to speak (and think 😉). Perhaps if gifted in staff meetings as gifts to parents for their children, the world might pause a moment and harness better control of their words.

an important read for sensory sensitive children
This book totally captivated the attention of my 2 year old and my 4 year old and caused them to laugh out loud during the yucky parts. Super helpful tool for my sensory-seeking/sensory-avoiding (SPD) son who lacks natural empathy towards others. All other books are pushing kids to imagine what the other children feel when a mean word is said -- this book uniquely turns the experience inward in a sensory-rich way which totally resonated with my son (FINALLY!). This book is a gift for parents. We've been using "How did that word taste?" successfully in my household already and we just got the book yesterday. Illustrations are whimsical and full of fun. Highly recommend as a teaching tool.

Great book for Parent and therapiat
Such a cute book that focuses on the power of words in a fun and creative way. The graphics were beautiful and it made my mouth salivate. Simple lesson for kids who are starting to “be mean” and do not understand the power of their words.

Excellent book
We recently used this book for a board-wide project. The students loved it and even drew pictures of their own yucky and yummy words. It was well received by the students and teachers! Thank you Bonnie!!
