Easy to file a claim
This is one of the few times I have bought a protection plan. Normally, you have to jump through hoops for the company to honor the protection plan. This was not the case with Asurion. The claim process is so easy to do online. Shipping materials sent to return laptop. Returned it on a Tuesday and received back on Friday fixed. The communication was good through the whole process of updates via email and text. Highly recommend!

Very happy, all about EXPECTATIONS
Got this for a HP laptop for my son. Knowing him like I do, knew he'd damage his laptop in some way. Sure enough .... cracked screen. Started the process online, it gave me a number to call. 1st gate is confirming warranty will cover. Handed to next tech rep. They laid out the process said it had to be sent in. OF COURSE IT DOES. This isn't "magical remote screen replacement policy" or "housecall repair insurance". Sure, was hoping a local repair place existed, but even they are going to need to keep a couple days to get parts and then repair. They said to allow 4-5 days for the box and PREPAID OVERNIGHT label to arrive (think about the cost of that if you do it yourself) and then could take up to 10 days for repairs (OF COURSE they have to estimate, they haven't even seen the laptop yet). This was on a Wednesday. By end of the day, UPS notified me the shipping supplies were on their way OVERNIGHT. I got them the next day on Thursday. Boxed it up and dropped it off at UPS, it arrived next day and I got an e-mail saying laptop was received before UPS even notified me. This was on a Friday. On Monday, got notification laptop had been examined and parts ordered. Next morning I got a notice parts had arrived. THAT NIGHT on Tuesday I got an email that it was complete and on its way back as well as UPS telling me a label had been created. Looks like it got picked up on Wednesday by UPS and I received it THE NEXT DAY at 9:30 AM! Opened it up, everything was perfect, screen looks great, can't tell it was replaced. They even, somehow, replaced a little rubber strip on the bottom of the laptop that my son had peeled off.I couldn't be happier with this. For $45, which wouldn't have even covered my overnight shipping cost to send this to a repair place, they paid for the TO/FROM shipping, the repair, and did it with a total downtime of 5 days. Pretty sure it would have been a day or two less locally, but also would have cost me $200. Asurion apparently tells you longer turnaround times for the steps knowing that A, things happen and B, they need to inspect the device and order parts. Makes sense to me.People need to manage their expectations. Ever been in a car accident? Know how insurance works? This is that. Drop the car off where they can fix it and it's going to take a few. Yes, you may be inconvenienced while you get your device repaired at very little out-of-pocket cost to fix a situation YOU caused. No, there's no instant gratification. Yes, your kid is going to be without their device, which THEY broke, for a couple of days while the repairs are completed. Yes, having kids remote learning while you're working too is a total cluster and with a broken device "now what?". That lady on the other end of the phone can't fix your quarantine situation or reduce the stress in your life and is not there to take your verbal beating. What the one that helped me did was provide great support to the service Asurion sold me and then the repair process itself was smooth and painless.As a service, this did EXACTLY what I hoped it would and for any more handheld or mobile electronics purchases on Amazon I make, if the cost of the plan is reasonable, this is a no-brainer.

worth it for a refurbished item
I only bought this coverage because I was purchasing a refurbished laptop. And I was really glad I did. It broke down after the manufacturer's warranty had expired, but I still had time on the Asurion plan. They fixed the same problem twice. Then when it happened a third time, they gave me a full refund. I wouldn't buy this coverage for a new product, but definitely for refurbished things.

Great protection service
I purchased a used MacBook laptop for my husband and he was having problems with the battery. I called and spoke with someone from Asurion and the customer service was great! I was able to send the laptop back for repair and they have it back to me within the next week. Definitely worth purchasing the insurance plan. This company is great and professional….

claim submittal sucks
Claims dept acts as if they have no idea that I purchased a laptop from Amazon several days ago., even though they sent me an email with all of the service contract information. They act as if they have no idea of who I am the product I purchased, even though I sent a copy of their e-mail with all of the contract and product info. What they want is for me to cancel the contract so they do not have to repair a broken screen

Fast!!!!
I cracked the screen of my computer and this warranty was sooo helpful. I sent my computer back via UPS with no out of pocket cost and the next day I got an email saying that my computer had been sent back… The day after that I got an email with a gift card for Amazon in the entire amount of the computer. I highly recommend purchasing a warranty if you’re clumsy like I am.
