Ruffwear, Flagline Dog Harness, Lightweight Lift-and-Assist Harness with Padded Handle

I have ordered so many slings, lifts, and harnesses but nothing fit correctly or went back far enough to work for us. I felt pretty good about ordering this one despite the price based on the reviews and I’m familiar with and really like the brand. It’s perfect.One of mine has weakness and numbness in her back legs from an old spinal cord injury and ACL tear. As she’s gotten older the weakness has become worse to where she needs someone to lift her backend from sitting or lying down and potty breaks and help walking to keep her balance.She’s 75lbs with a broad chest and smaller waist and backend due to loss of muscle mass. The L/XL fits her perfectly after adjusting and still has room to be made smaller and much larger. In my experience this brand always has quality products, all 4 of mine have Ruffwear collars that I purchased well over 5 years ago and they still look new. The harness is great quality, sturdy but not bulky or clunky so She’s able to wear it all the time without discomfort or chafing. I do leave the straps loose so they do not cause pressure when she’s lying down. The chest pad is in the perfect position to give equal support to her front and backend while lifting and the pads on the straps under the chest and hips are well placed and do not dig in or cause discomfort.I would have paid double the price for this harness. It has eliminated so much distress on my end and given her more freedom.

Our pit/hound mix is getting older and needed help with stairs and getting into the car. This harness is perfect. With just a little support or lift from us she can maneuver steps and slippery floors with ease. The location of the handle is perfect to keep her balanced. This has worked much better than the strap we originally tried. The harness is well made and the multiple adjustments gave her a custom fit.

Although it was a bit pricey it's worth it. I could not find a comfy harness for my growing pup that did not cut her under the legs but this one is perfect. Great for all types of walking and hiking and the handle is an added bonus. Great adjustments as well. 👍

This is a nice product that has instantly become a game changer for our elderly standard poodle (size lrg/xl) with lumbar spine degeneration and neuropathy bilateral back legs. With this harness on, I was shockingly (to me) able to support him going up and down porch stairs. I walk alongside him and held onto the harness; he became like a piece of luggage albeit with legs. When he's feeling strong, it's amazingly smooth - when he's tired I do heave ho him -- but compared to what I was doing before it's absolutely a game changing device and I'm very grateful to Ruffwear. Edit: after a few weeks of using this harness, I am extremely pleased by the design. The clips are very posterior, so the dog doesn't lie on them. The belly of the harness is as smooth as it can be, no hard plastic irritating the dogs skin. This is a very thoughtful design. Ruffwear, you have given my dog and our family some more time together. I hope this review will be shared with your employees.Now - dear Ruffwear - here are some suggestions. Many of us here are very willing to pay big money for a better item. Perhaps you'd consider a premium line for your more infirm dog clients:1. More padding options. Include customizable pads, sell pad refill kits to support this option. I cannot leave the harness on the dog for long because I'm worried about ulceration development. Also comfort during use.2. Bilateral clips at anterior chest piece. Dogs with mobility issues have a really hard time getting on their feet or even presenting their chest while on their bed. If the harness could be completely unclipped, it can be slipped under the dog and fastened with dog lying on their side.Example: harness clipped all along one side, slide under dog and clipped up on opposite. Bilateral clips would allow caregiver to make best choice for how the dog is presenting on their bed. Then the caregiver can assist dog to standing. Especially useful in morning with stiff canine.

1. this IS actually escape proof! My dog has been a master at escaping collars and tried it the first walk with this harness but failed instantly.2. I was surprised he pulls a lot less harder when walking with a harness! And if he does jerk or pull, the attachment has passed the test, it really IS stitched well, and I was worried about that but not anymore!3. I have had issues in the past with “which side is up” on a harness and some are impossible for me to figure out how to put on. NOT THIS ONE! it’s easy to put it on him! If only I could get him to hold still a little better but I can still put it on while he does circles lolOVERALL I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TRY THIS ONE

I have a 100lb Bernese with a very barrel shaped chest. We struggled to find a harness that would fit her that was high quality. We didn't like the other Ruffwear harness because it was too short down her back - this one with the double straps and handle are SO helpful, we can pick up our dog like a suitcase to pull her away from things she shouldn't be sniffing/trying to eat and to guide her on trails. Thin but durable harness. Straps are a little confusing to adjust but they adjust from underneath the buckle so you have to adjust before putting it on your dog.

Worth the purchase, it fits my 65 lbs lab and she doesn’t pull since I have the complete control! Only one con is the fasteners on the back won’t stay inside of the hole, I have to keep inserting them into the hole. But everything else is sturdy!

Great fitting, well designed, good value. Male Doberman. He swims in salt water & it's held up well. He doesn't try to escape, but it would work for that. He pulls boats with it. YES, I AM KIDDING. 🤣

Good soild product , light and easy to fit. This is second ruff wear brought and only because last one is over 4 years old but will still keep as still in good condition and will come on handy when new one needs a wash.

Very light super strong, great vibrant colour, with quality fasteners and stitching.Very robust, totally escape proof and very supportive.

Actualizo 2/7/24: siguen como el primer día. Hace un mes que compre estos arnés para mis dos mastines, el FLAGLINE y el RANGO FRONTAL, al leer algunos comentarios que se había descosido me echaba un poco para atrás por el tema de que son dos perros de 50kg y a veces tiran mucho pero en este mes que llevo usándolos van de maravilla, no se les a salido ni un hilo y han tirado tanto uno como el otro muy fuerte y aún yendo por montaña con muchas ramas sigue intacto. El color me encanta y la talla a sido perfecta! Reflectan en la noche y no les roza para nada como hacían otros arneses. Si se llegarán a romper actualizare mi comentario pero de momento estoy súper contenta con estos arneses!!

George has used this a lot since we purchased it, he has joint problems and the handle allows us to help him with steps etc. We already had a different style ruff wear harness for our other dog which we have been using for about 5 years so even though they are a little more expensive we knew it would stand the test of time.
