It works great! It won’t fit a rimmed aquarium
I was pretty skeptical about these little fans being able to cool a tank for an axolotl but they totally work! I have 10 gallon and 40 gallon tanks set up with the 2 fan option. The fan on the 10 gallon can achieve almost 9 degrees cooler than room temperature and 5 degrees cooler on the 40 gallon. I was really impressed that it still worked on a much larger tank! And I am using the lower setting on the fan. The humidity currently is 50% (inside) and my home is around 70 degrees. There is a good amount of evaporation so topping off the tanks with water daily or every other day is a must in my conditions. I have only had these for a couple weeks so I don’t know yet how they hold up. Given the price if they work for a year before they break I won’t be upset. As many others have mentioned, they won’t fit your rimmed aquarium. But you could carefully remove part of the rim (watch YouTube how to) or devise a way to rest it safely over the water. It would be great if one of these fan vendors read that these don’t fit rimmed tanks and adjusted the design- it’s only off by a tiny amount.

Works well
This product works great for my axolotl. It has 2 settings high and low. On high it drops the temp of my 20 gallon tank by at least 5 degrees. I’d recommend it for the price if you have a small tank you need to cool a little bit.

Pretty good
I have a lid less 20 gallon for my axolotl and it keeps his tank about 4-5° cooler than whatever the room temp is. It does fit perfectly on the edge of my tank but if I had a lid it might have not worked. Water evaporates quicker but not too much that its an issue. Sound level is medium. Not super loud, but not super quiet either. Relatively close to the sound and quiet level of a desk fan. Worth the cost.

Perfect for a 30-gallon
This fan is great for a 30-gallon tank. It can be a little loud on high, but I use the low setting anyway, so that’s not a problem. This is the second one of these fans I’ve bought. My first one lasted four years, which was impressive, especially at this price.I was skeptical when I read about the fan method for cooling down a reef tank. It seemed too simple, and I didn’t think it would work. But I decided to try it before buying a chiller, especially since it was so cheap and easy to implement. I’m so glad I did! This is definitely the best solution for a 30-gallon reef tank. I’m not sure if it would be as effective on a larger tank, but for a 30-gallon, it’s perfect.

Louder than expected, not suited for all tanks
First off, this does do the job and helps cool my aquarium a bit. However it is pretty noisy, doesn’t fit around all of my tanks, isn’t as adjustable as I thought it would be (it’s pretty stiff) and the plug in adaptor for it takes up a decent amount of space. Also, the device itself gets pretty warm pretty quick.

THIS BROKE MY TANK
THIS DOES NOT FIT ON RIMMED TANKS!!!! I cut part of the plastic on the rim to help it fit and it was pretty secure for about two minutes. Then it cracked my tank. had to get a whole new tank and transfer my fish. My dorm was soaking wet, would absolutely not recommend.

Doesn't necessarily fit all tanks - but doable!
We bought this fan set (the 2 set) for our axolotl tank. We have a 20 gallon tank. After letting it run for 24 hours, the temperature in the tank went from 74 to 58! It definitely works. We're actually going to have to watch it doesn't get too cold or only run it for a period of time each day.Definitely great for the money spent. We did have to modify the fit a bit by adjusting the lid on our tank around it - but nothing terrible and definitely worth it.

Pleasantly Surprised
Normally I use frozen water bottles when my temps get above the 78° in my 5 gallon. It takes the temp down from 83 pretty quickly, but it hasn't been working this year. The bottles melt too fast and temps were getting to 84-85. I bought the fan expecting to use water bottles to supplement. Instead, temps stayed a constant 78, even dropping lower and triggering the heater to come on. Highest it got was 79 on a day that was getting close to 90. Very happy with it.
