My packet says coarse sooji and I received coarse sooji
I was a bit surprised by the other one star review so let me add my two cents. Just as my headline says the packet I received is coarse sooji. I compared the sooji that I already had in my house with this new one. I didn’t realize until I compared the two that the sooji I already had was fine or medium, and this one has a larger grain, therefore it’s coarse. I have been making sooji halwa with my fine/medium sooji without any issues, and I’m pretty sure I will be able to make sooji halwa with this one.As a side note, the sooji arrived quickly and was well wrapped in the FedEx bag. The only minor issue was that the sooji packet had a tiny hole in the bottom and a few grains had leaked out. I weighed the bag and it still had the full four pounds. I’m happy. Of course you can buy sooji cheaper in the South Asian grocery store, but my one is too far away, and I’m not going.I haven’t cooked with it yet, and when I do if I have a problem I will update this review. Until then I stand by my five star review.Update 05/22/20I cooked sooji halwa with this and it behaved differently to the fine/medium grain sooji I just finished. As soon as I added the liquid and sugar to the fried sooji the sooji didn’t instantly absorb the liquid like the old packet I just finished. I had a slurry that took a while to cook and for the water to fully absorb. It took a lot longer than the previous packet I just finished. However, once it was fully cooked (took a lot of stirring), had absorbed all the water, and was very stiff, it produced a very good sooji halwa. It takes time, perseverance and a lot of elbow grease, but in the end it makes a tasty dish.

Too stingy for Cream of Wheat? Buy this
Tastes JUST like the old-fashioned Cream of Wheat that now costs $5 for less than 2 pounds. Cooking method is about the same, too. And then there are all those lovely traditional sooji recipes, both sweet and savory ...

Not coarse Sooji
This product was mislabeled it is very fine Sooji, what a waste. It is very hard to cook this. Buyers beware, it is not different than what they advertised for fine sooji. I am greatly disappointed as to the misleading advertisement. This is my own personal opinion for this one. I guess if anyone is desperate and do not care weather it is fine or coarse than they might enjoy this.
