Wonderful, meaningful style
I love the layout of this book and appreciate the beautiful photos. These quilts really, truly convey the feel of “hometown” and reflect her personality and vision. Proud to have it on my bookshelf; I pull it out to thumb through it just for the pleasure of it sometimes.

Inspirational mostly, for me anyway.
Recommended by Alabama Chanin. I got a few ideas to use while incorporating Alabama Chanin techniques versus true quilting techniques which I do not have the patience for. I consider this book more inspirational rather than making the projects presented, but that is just me.

20 patterns in the book
This book's first section on color theory is better than most books. I would have loved have seen more on the where and how inspiration can be translated into quilts. There are 20 patterns in the book and each pattern is made in 2 color ways. Many of the patterns are very, very simplistic. Many of the patterns are just 1 12 inch block with the rest of the quilt open space. Most of the quilts are made with solid fabrics...some print fabrics are used and they are not to my liking but could appeal to others.I do plan on making one or two of the quilts. Some patterns I would want to modify extensively to add more interest.
