this is a must have for anyone interested in the supernatural. the articles and information contained in this set are highly informative, unbiased and well researched.There are many,many interesting pictures as well as paintings drawings etc which are very nicely reproduced in full color. The set came out in 1970 and was sold through the mail by subscription. there are 24 volumes including an index.I own quite a few books on the supernatural and have studied the occult for many years. This set has been a priceless source of information as well as a suppliment to most of my library because it contains information,most of which in depth, on just about every occult/supernatural topic you can think of! I highly recommend this set to people interested or studying the supernatural. i have seen smaller condensed versions of this set but never another encylopedia set such as this. It is quite hard to find especially intact and in good condition as it is now many years out of print.I have searched through endless used book stores and have come up with nothing. Amazon is the first place i have seen the set.

This long out of print and somewhat rare encyclopedia dates back to the early 1970s. You want the 1st edition, as they removed material from the 2nd edition.Far superior to later encyclopedias on the supernatural, which seem directed at teens and childlike adults, focusing on ghosts and faeries. This focuses on witchcraft and demonology.Accept no substitutes.

Anyone having an interest in paranormal phenomena, strange and odd things, or simply possessed of a curiosity about unusual things in our world should have a go at getting these books. I am very happy with my purchase of this set. They arrived in very good condition. Each came with its original shipping receipt. Some of the volumes appeared to have been looked at only once, or even maybe not at all! They make good reading before bedtime even if the content is a little weird or disturbing. I am grateful to the seller for the care in which he took in these books and extremely satisfied with the service. 5 STAR'S! !!

I loved this set when I was a kid and still remember it to this day, after 25 years of not seeing it anywhere around. This is a kind of compendium that you are not going to find anywhere else, it's unique and out of print. The pages and binding of all the books in the set were in excellent condition. If you are in the slightest bit interested in the occult or the history of mythologies, then let this set serve as your primer and your guide.
