Perfect fit and function
I thought that this was the end of a perfectly good carpet cleaner when the tank started leaking. Fund this replacement part for the valve. It takes quite a bit of force to remove the bad part and just about the same amount of fore to seat this new replacement. Just be careful and work each one out slowly. great value compared to buying a whole new tank.....if you can find the correct one.

Perfect fit!
This fit my carpet cleaner perfectly! Definitely an upgraded replacement piece compared to the original valve that broke. Super easy to install!

We received this 6/25/15. We have not used the carpet cleaner yet. This valve was bought for a Hoover Steam Dual V Carpet Cleaner model # F-7431-900. It fits and went in easily. We did put water into the bucket to check for leaks. There is a little leak but this is on a bucket that is original to the cleaner. The cleaner is probably 6 yrs old or so. We wanted to try to see if this clean water bucket would still serve us. We will try some spray sealant to see if that stops the leak or if it gets worse. Perhaps there is a little crack that these are well known for having. The newer buckets are apparently better made than these older ones. Everyone that is familiar with these older buckets tells us that the newer ones are a better plastic. I will add more at a later date when we have used the machine to see if the valve investment was worth it or if we will need a new one. Hope that this is helpful to someone.

Wished it had worked better
Fast ship, good price. Installed easy enough and worked the first time. Second time I went to use steam cleaner it leaked just as bad as before with 5 year old valve. Good thing I bought two but can't afford to buy a new one for each time I need to clean. Possible operator error but I don't think so.

Fixed my leaking Hoover SteamVac
My Hoover SteamVac started leaking under the water/detergent reservoir. If your Hoover SteamVac is more than a few years old, you will probably eventually need to replace this part; because eventually the rubber sealing rings can deteriorate. Can't get the part anymore from Hoover, so glad I found this source.Advice when removing the old valves: they need to be pushed out from the INSIDE of the tank, after first unscrewing the retaining cap. So best to use an 18 inch or so wooden rod of screwdriver inserted into the fill opening to do this.
