SEIKOMen's Analogue Automatic Watch with Textile Strap SNZG11K1

High Value Sport Watch
Bought this for a nice entry level automatic sport watch. Good price on Amazon, best I found around on the web. The construction appears solid and so far it is keeping nice time. I haven't calculated it out completely yet, but less than a minute from set time over the first week of wear. The strap is comes with is a bit tough and needs some breaking in, I plan on replacing it with a NATO band in the future. Unlike other reviews around on the web, I found it very easy to set the time and date. Seiko has a good reputation, as does the automatic movement they chose for this watch. Very nice looking in person, I have already received multiple compliments on it.

I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.
This one is a keeper. Looks great -- as someone else said, the blue face is nearly black. The watchband isn't bad -- not fabric as shown, but a blue nylon band that looks terrific, though I may eventually swap it out for a deep brown leather band. As for accuracy, here's my first-24-hours-of-ownership report: it hasn't lost or gained even one second as against the atomic clock at the Naval Observatory. It's "old school" technology that so far rivals my Seiko solar-battery quartz watch in accuracy and exceeds it in appearance. The day/date is easy to read, and the luminescence at night is terrific -- far easier to read than the Seiko quartz that I bought last year. I thought the 42mm case would look larger on my wrist, but it's just right. Except for the accuracy, all other comments are obviously subjective judgments that anyone might quarrel with.

Good watch
Keep in mind that this is an automatic. I've noticed complaints/confusion in other reviews. For those that don't know this means no battery. Subsequently, this means it needs to be worn daily (or stored in a watch winder), otherwise, the time and possibly the date will need to be reset. Inherently, automatics are usually not as precise as quartz (battery) watches. You most likely will lose or gain some seconds over the course of a day. Happily my watch is only dropping a remarkable 1-2 seconds/day at this point. This watch is not hackable (cannot set or stop the second hand), which, to me, is dissapointing. At the price of $99, for which I paid, it's a good value. I measured mine at 42mm by 12mm with a 22mm band. I am 6' 200lbs with about a 7 1/2 or 7 3/4 inch wrist and I certainly would not want any larger of this style of timepiece on my arm. If I had it to do over again, I'd not purchase this but opt for something different as it doesn't fill the nitch I expected it to (no fault of the watch). Just my take. I will keep it and I do like it. As my only real disappointment, it came with absolutely no paperwork (i.e. warranty, instructions or information). The watch is simple enough that instructions were not necessary. After the fact, I noticed the setting instructions in the Amazon description if one were to need them. But come on Seiko, INCLUDE SOME!

The leader in it's category!!
I'm beginning to learn about watches and movements and now I'm buying watches not only based on the looks but also based on what they are and what they have inside. This is an excellent watch, I love how its been build and how it just feels tightly done. The dial is perfect, its a little bit heavy but that is something I personally like. The strap feels very secure and long lasting. The movement on this watch is being replaced by Seiko by a new model because it doesn't do 2 things:1. You cant wind it. If you don't wear it for a long period you will have to move it to start it. I personally don't care about this. BTW The watch has 43 hours of backup energy.2. You can't hack the seconds hand. Some watches have this option and with this you can synchronize your watch with other. I'm not a spy so I also don't care about this.Appart these 2 "flaws" the movement is very precise. In the end for me this is a watch worth having it doesn't matter if you collect watches or you are just looking for a watch to wear this is one of the best watches you can get for the money.

Worked great until I had it the pool just one time.
Great style, I thought a great watch. Had the watch for about 2 years. Dropped one of my other watches I take on vacations and a number fell off, so brought this one instead. I never take my expensive watches on vacations. Just in case. Says the watch is 100m water resistant. I had it in with me in the pool just one time and it stopped working. Sad and wasted money. Of course 6 months after the warranty expired.

Excellent durability
The watch is excellent for my needs-at 40 mm in diameter I can easily see it in all conditions-the lume is evenly applied and plenty of it. The watch provides the date and day- a wonderful thing for a forgetful person like me. The unit is durable-I wear it in harsh environments. The cloth band is not flimsy, one of the best I have owned-I will not be changing it anytime soon. I enjoy the concept and operation of the automatic watch; I do not have to open the case annually to change batteries or provide a vector for dust, dirt, etc. to enter the mechanism-this is important to me. I also like the 100m water resistance-I am in harsh conditions and this really helps with denying the infiltration of water, sweat, dust, etc.I would certainly recommend owning this timepiece as it easily supports my expectations.

Buyer Beware - After 30 days return issues are with SEIKO
FYI - I purchased this watch from Jomashop. I had an issue after 30 days, Jomashop directs you to SEIKO corporate, so I could not deal directly with Jomashop. Also I could not see the image, and the description did not mention the watch also had Arabic, which I find offensive.
