great elastic laces
After a major cancer surgery a while back I was in the hospital for a month and unable to bend over to tie or untie my shoes. Most of the time I wear athletic running shoes, size 10.5 Hospital staff obtained some elastic laces for my shoes. Once set and tied, they could be put on and taken off with ease. I never needed to tie or untie them again. The laces were wide and flat, looking just like the laces that came on the shoes. Also, the flexibility of the laces made the shoes more comfortable. Years later I decided to put elastic laces on all 3 of my athletic shoes. I was unable to find any locally and saw the Yankz laces at Amazon. However, the sizing listed did not give actual lengths. I emailed the company before ordering. I was told that the small size is 35 inches long, the medium is 45 and the large are 50 inches long. My first order was some medium size laces. They were a bit long, but OK. They did not have black available in medium size. I needed one black, so I ordered a black in small size. It was long enough for my size 10.5 athletic shoes, but not any to spare. The laces look just like regular flat laces and I really enjoy their flexibility. I would buy them again.

Work great!!!
With the fall arriving and cooler weather around the corner I wanted to get back to wearing my leather boots. With a cool pair of slim or skinny jeans it's the right look for NYC! But tying laces can be a pain so I wanted to find some stretch laces that would fit a modern boot without looking cheap or dorky.I use ibungee laces for my workout sneakers and they're great. But for more fashionable wear they just didn't work.Well these laces by Slacklaces were just what I was looking for! I bought the black and put them on three boots and they fit perfectly! Wide laces (not to wide though) that have that regular lace look, but have that incredible stretching feature, allowing me to put on or slip off my boots with ease without tying! Just perfect!I do hope they last. I've only had them for a day and I hope fraying does not occur...so durability is something I have yet to test. But for looks, ease of use and comfort they fit the bill!I gave up on lace tying with my workout shoes along time ago. Now I can do the same with my dress boots too! Awesome!!!

Good Idea, Priced Too High.
I bought these due to the lofty promise that I could tie them once and never worry about it again. And maybe that will happen one day. For now here is what I have experienced. These laces are wide and thin. They are basically just an elastic ribbon with shoe lace aglets (plastic tips) on the ends. The aglets were slightly curved. Looking at their product pictures in various colors, it would seem this happens randomly as some laces have it and some don't.I purchased these in a size medium and small. The small was 36 inches from aglet to aglet. The medium was about 42 inches, if I recall correctly. After you lace them up and tie them, you could conceivably slip your foot out and then back into the shoe. The problem is that the laces kind of migrate a little bit and the shoe feels very different when you put it back on. Sometimes uncomfortably different....enough to call for retying the laces. The only way I was able to alleviate some of the issue was getting help from a family member. I put my foot in the shoes with the laces as loose as possible then he pulled on the laces starting near the toe and going up to the ankle until they were not loose anymore, but....he did not pull them tight either. He only tightened them enough so they lay flat against the shoe. Then he tied and retied the shoes until the tension felt right. This worked well for awhile, being essentially set to my foot in the shoe, the laces did not migrate for several times worn. But eventually they did migrate again, causing the old issues to come back. So now I just treat them as normal laces and untie and retie them when I wear or take off the shoes. Considering that in the end they did not work significantly better than traditional laces, these just end up being too much money for what you get. Especially since their seem to be several other brands offering multi-packs of 3 elastic laces for about $10.I've considered trying the Caterpy, Coolknot, and Xtenex laces next. Those may prevent the migration issues due to their special design. Unable to freely travel through the eyelet holes due to how they are made. But I'm not happy with the idea of having to spend even more money. Is elastic really worth $10 for 5 feet? I'm not so convinced.

Love hate relationship.
Inasmuch as the laces are two stretchy to stay tied, I have to use the clips on the "Lock Laces to hold them before I tie the bow. Complicated, but looks better than the Lock Laces and works better too. Just an expensive to solve a problem.

works in my sneakers so I don't have to tie and untie.
I love these because they are flat laces. I use them in the sneakers that I'm too unmotivated to tie and untie, so I just keep them tied and slip the sneakers on. I wear the sneakers to exercise (they are not high tops) and this brand of laces have been in the shoes for about 6 months with no problems. I expect that at some point they will snap from all the stretching to put the sneakers on, but that hasn't happened yet. I wear a size 7 mens sneaker for exercise because I find the width more comfortable than womens' sneakers (I am 8.5 W in womens). I bought the absolutely longest length lace that they sold and I do have extra left over to make a reasonably-sized bow.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I had tried another brand of stretch shoe laces that came with a plastic locking device - ended up throwing these away because they were impossible to use. These, however, are exactly the perfect thing! They are the size of average shoe laces, width wise, and about 45" long in the size medium. I wear a women's size 10 shoe and these make my sneakers more comfortable, easy to pull on and off without untying, and there's enough lace to do a double knot, so they do not come untied. For this style of lace, these were also the best price, AND added bonus, they are made in the US.

Great Shoelaces that don't need to be untied and retied
These shoelaces do just what they say they will. They keep your tied shoe snug on your foot but also stretch enough to get the shoe off and back on. The only thing not perfect is I bought the large size and I really only needed the medium. This was my fault, not the shoelaces fault. These laces would easily fit a tall boot.
