ETERNALS: THE DREAMING CELESTIAL SAGA

I’ve always wanted to read the 1980s Eternals mini series but had a tough time tracking down the issues. I was overjoyed to hear it was finally being collected. And the fact it also contains the origin story printed in What If plus crossovers with the Avengers and Iron Man is a great bonus

B4 U read this:You must start at the beginning. Start with the Jack Kirby Eternals collection, next read the Thor and the Eternals collection ,and finish the continuing story with this collection.

I remember declining to purchase this series at the time it was published but am glad to see it return as a massive trade paperback. Peter Gillis, Walt Simonson, and Sal Buscema do their best to recapture that Kirby magic but the story is wordy and over long and the art seems pedestrian compared to Kirby’s cosmic splash pages. Still, the miniseries and extras were entertaining and it was good preparation for the upcoming Marvel Eternals film.
