Forest Lumps Hardwood Charcoal 20 LB Box Contains 2-10 lb Bags

I recently migrated from gas to charcoal grill. I started experimenting with whatever charcoal available at the store. Mostly briquettes that pretty much overpowered the natural scent of the meats, which I didn't like. As I went in and out from the kitchen to the patio I managed to stink up the entire house and the smell lingered for a day. I tried few other brands but was disappointed. My online search ended with Forest Lumps. After the first grilling, I was instantly hooked. Perfect burn and no smell. I build up the fire with a single fire starter stick in the center. After 20 minutes or so I spread the lumps and the grill is ready. Food tastes amazing! The house doesn't smell even if I leave the kitchen/patio door wide open. I am on my third box already. Ships quick, I receive the shipment within a day in California. After I finish grilling, I place the kettle on the grill to make that perfect fire coffee. The cleanup is not as frequent. I noticed way less ash in the tray compared to the briquettes. I would say I empty the tray once every ten times compared to once or twice with the briquettes. Forest Lumps Hardwood is definitely a game changer.

Really good quality charcoal. Burns hot, long and evenly with little ash. The thin paper bag container is surprisingly sturdy and lets enough light in to make selecting chunks easy. My only complaint is that most of the pieces were so large that using them was difficult and didnt really fit my grilling style of cooking for two people. Highly recommended for large grills and long burn times but maybe something else for everyday grilling.

Was disappointed with how many small broken pieces came in the package. Definitely not lump charcoal. Would think twice before buying again. Good price however. Good flavor and lasted a long time as well.

Lots of big chunks. Boxes seemed to protect the integrity. Lighted easy. Burnt well and clean.

What a disappointment. I don't know if it was the USPS or if the lump just comes this way. The bags had maybe 10% actual lump in them. The rest was crumbs. Absolutely worthless. I was able to salvage enough large pieces for a good cook. The stuff does burn hot, smell wonderful and gave the meat a nice smoky flavor. But now I'm left with 2 bags of lump crumbs. I suppose if your bbq has a fire grate with 1/2" minus holes it could be used. The stuff will just fall through in my Weber. Maybe I'll just throw it in the firepit... I don't see myself buying this again.

Unfortunately it's mostly just small pieces and although that can get nice and hot fast it's not very efficient. The bottom of the bag is also so fine not really useable. Flavor was fine no issues there.

Best lump hardwood charcoal ever. Like great tasting food off the grill then try this charcoal.High heat, minimal clean smoke, low ash and outstanding taste. I have tried over a dozen different lump charcoal's without question this lump is the chart topper, best out there. Very versatile too sear, smoke or just everyday grilling. Highly recommend this Lump, it produces an amazing taste.

Too many small pieces
