Love this simple sketch book. Cats' eyes and all the pages are black. This sketchbook is good for on the go and is a good size. I will buy another one when I fill mine up.

Just what I wanted!

First of all, I do like this sketchbook with its cute cover and welcome size. One thing I think people should be aware of however, is that the paper is more like a slate gray - it’s not a true black like other papers I’ve used. Also, the pages each have a light gray mark in the lower right hand corner (like a backwards “L”) and then on the upper left on the reverse side. I’m not really sure why those marks are there.This paper seems to work best with white gel pens. It’s pretty good for pastels, both oil and soft, and various colored pencils, but it didn’t work at all with some of my “made for black paper” pens.So, all in all it’s decent, especially if you like working with white pens and the paper is pretty smooth, too. If it were actually blacker I think it would be better, but it is a cute, fun notebook for a decent price.

This is smooth like computer paper, and you can tell that it was white paper that was coded with ink. Do not purchase if you plan on using gel pens, because they don’t show up on it!

The paper is gray, not black, and very thin. It does not have the texture of sketch paper, rather computer paper. The paper is very absorbent so, using gel pens or metallic markers, I had to go over an lines and writing more than twice to get the desired pigment.

This was a mistake from the beginning. The paper isn’t true black. It is streaky and poor quality. I will never buy this product again. I gad to order black sketching paper from another source.
