Breeding Working Dogs

I had ordered this book together with The Book Of The Bitch, in expectation of our first ever litter of working Setter pups. I found this an excellent book which, I'm sure, is not just of interest to working dog owners, so don't let the title stop you from buying it.The author is clearly writing from many years of experience and, although some recommendations didn't echo some given in other publications, I found his advice helpful and reassuring. I guess, as many books as you read, as many different opinions and experiences are shared by the respective authors, so the previous sentence is not meant to be a criticism in any way.We found the various photos of whelping boxes particularly useful and are absolutely delighted with the practicality (and comfort) of the box we easily and quickly constructed based on what we've seen in this book.I have no hesitation recommending this book to any breeder, especially a first-time breeder.
