Quality family fun at an affordable price! Mulitple ways to play so you don't get bored
It was the morning of Christmas and all through the house electronic gifts sat quietly as a mouse: New gaming console, headsets, controllers, and video games! New cameras and tablets - all brand names! And what to my wandering eye did appear? This simplistic Code Breaker game surrounded by cheer.Seriously, hours went by that Christmas morn, as we all hovered around this game watching the current players and yelling out hints and cheering. We started timing our selves to beat the clock (much like timed chess) and at the end of every game - folks were yelling, "My turn! I'm next!" It was literally Christmas night when the kids (and adults) realized they had other Christmas presents to play with. So, my only complaint? We didn't buy 2 or more so we could have tournaments! Great family fun time! Affordable, which is a huge plus for families nowadays! For those complaining it is too easy once you start figuring out patterns to solving the codes, ramp up the intensity by setting a timer for each move. It really puts on the pressure and makes for hilarious gaffs and folks begging for "do-overs."And laying a finger aside of my chin, and looking at my family, I had to grin. Quality group time can be so rare, so buy this game for family togetherness at a price that's fair! And I heard them exclaim as guests left that night, " Merry Christmas to all, and I'll beat you next time!"

Great simple easy to learn game
Very easy to play, fun short games. Great for strengthening reasoning skills. Bought for the kids for Christmas, but challenged my hubby to a game, very easy to learn (he had never played before, but I have years ago). My daughter 10 came in right after we played about a dozen games, I had her help me one game to see how it works... she took over next game and never stopped. She has asked someone to play with her every day now since Christmas. I love that the games are short, so you do not need to dedicate many hours to it.A single game is usually solved in 3-5 tries, I think I will mix it up and try to add one color duplicate for more of a challenge, should be fun to see how that goes. Would recommend to anyone, great family game or good for someone needing to strengthen process of elimination skills.

awesome game for working on deduction and reasoning!
This is a great off-brand alternative to the game "mastermind". My 7 year old son has a math/engineering type of brain and is really loving beating me at breaking the codes. I love how you can increase the difficulty by using color repetition and adding in blank spaces. This game is a fun way to increase deduction and reasoning skills in young children and we are really enjoying it.As noted by other reviewers, the pegs are a little loose, but this has not been of any great problem for us.

Fun game!
Such a fun game. Everyone in the family enjoys playing ages 9-40. One downside is keeping the smaller scoring pieces from falling out of the game when stored away. Wish it had a cover on the end to cover the smaller pieces. Solution we have is to put it inside the box that way first so it’s covered. Just don’t tip the box or they will spill out everywhere when you take it out of the box.

Enjoyed
Love this game, it has 8 colors, and 12 spots to figure out the design. Anyone who says this game is an "easy version" should start by not putting the indicator pegs in order to make the game more challenging, if code breaker has 2 colors in the right spot and 3 colors in the wrong spot, don't put the indicator pegs in the correct order to give away your design too fast. I love all the colors as well. Only thing I dislike is the pegs come out of the holes too easily if you bump them.

Acceptable replacement for Super Mastermind
Was looking for a game like Super Mastermind, and this fits the bill. Like that it has a compartment that shuts to hold the bigger pieces, but initially I thought the plastic would break when I tried to lift the cover on the compartment. The cover did eventually open, and it appears to be able to stay shut, once closed. Good for when game is packed up. Overall, thin plastic used to make the game, not as sturdy as the old Super Mastermind, but pleased to have a version to give to 9 & 11 year olds who were enchanted by my original game. FYI, my game was damaged in shipping because Amazon sent it in a thin plastic bag (?!?)

Great Game!
Great game! I grew up playing (mastermind), and this is a great cheaper alternative. We have a 7 year old & a 14 year old, so it's always awesome to find a game they can play together!

Excellent and fun logic game
I got this one over a brand name Mastermind game because it’s travel friendly. My 12-year-old son loves this game. He quickly advanced from beginner mode to expert level mode within 24 hours. I like that you can tweak the rules to make the game easier or expert depending on who is playing.

Ill designed
The white/black peg box has no lid :)) How am I supposed to transport this thing? Had to improvise a lid from a scrubbing sponge. What a joke...
