I did a DIY fan swap for the inspiron 15 3421. Besides how poorly assembled the laptop was(still fairly alright to access the inside), the fan fit perfectly and now the laptop runs cool and quiet (average ~60C on load ~47C idle). This replaced the stock fan which had failed.
