The new design doesn't work... :-( Refund please
This is the new eco-pod which is supposedly compostable which is good but the issue is they don't work in the nespresso machines.... They fit but the issue is the front face which on other capsules when the machine is switched and the water pressure builds forces the face against the metal die which pierces in multiple places allowing the hot water to extract over the full volume of the capsule. With these the front face is not foil but what looks like plastic and when the pressure builds the face splits in one or 2 places into small slits which doesn't allow a full exposure of the capsule contacts to the hot water resulting in weak brown liquid and not espresso type liquid. Hard to explain but definitely a design flaw and would appreciate a refund. Added a photo to help explain ...

Don't be tempted
After reading the reviews I thought they cannot possibly be that bad, and at the price they must be worth trying. Well, I was right, they are not as bad as the reviews said, they are much worse!! If you were to list everything you look for in a coffee pod they fail all of them. The flavour and strength, what there is of it, is inconsistent and at best weak. The pods don't pierce they sort of just burst. If you like a decent crema forget these, there is none, just a weak wetness.I normally enjoy the taste of Lavazza, but these are nothing like. If you're unfortunate enough to have bought some already, a small tip is to pop the white front with a series of small holes, this avoids the pop and fail. I only gave these a one star rating because there is no option for a minus number. Please believe all the reviews and don't be tempted by the price. They are rubbish.

Capsules do not always work.
I love Lavazza coffee, but, these capsules look dirty, which is kind of off putting. The biggest problem with them is that I have thrown several away, as the capsules do not work and the water does not flow through them. I bought 100, God knows how many more I will waste.

NOT COMPOSTABLE
These are NOT compostable, at least not in the sense that your average consumer will be able to do. After having bought hundreds of these for the last year and using them quite happily, popping them in the food waste, it has only recently been drawn to my attention that YOU CAN'T PUT THESE IN YOUR HOME COMPOSTER. And I can't find out if these can be put in your council food waste collection either. There's also no guidance on where you can actually compost these or where you can take them as they need to be done via a more specialist composting process. Basically they are a great idea but the infrastructure isn't currently there to support them. I won't be buying anymore until they can be composted with the rest of the food waste. Genuinely gutted.

Took a gamble, wish I hadnt, brownie points for eco efforts ..but for me, they don’t work properly
Took a risk with these, saw lots of negative reviews, surely it a well known coffee company... They can't be that bad... They ARE! They don't taste particularly good, they don't puncture properly and they are very weak in taste.. I'm gonna use them in smaller water volumes.. like an espresso... They slightly drinkable that way, tho lungo style they are designed for, not my choice for a good coffee... when I want a mugs ish worth...Update... used for a day now... read a few reviews for hints... which suggest using tweezers to puncture the ‘face’ of the capsule...I did that it worked a few times but even then the proper froth of coffee only poured for a few seconds, then went very weak.. needed 3 capsule per mug... that can’t be right... I then tried it again and it wouldn’t work... getting worried this will break my machine...So got two options, either one, bin them , complete waste of money, or two, try to scoop out coffee from each capsule and use loose in a cafetière or something... what a faff... these capsules are not fit for purpose and should not be sold! Please don’t buy them..Final update... after another day of trying to make the best of these capsules, I found the best use for them on my manual machine was to just put them in as is... use the espresso button rather than the lungo size button and press it again, so you get two portions from one capsule, I repeated this again with a second pod... into a mug...You don’t get the volume of coffee that you should but is is much more drinkable and pretty decent.Obviously you don’t get a larger portion of coffee that you should and that the fact you are having to use two capsules for a mug ish of coffee isn’t cost effective but I tried to make the best of it..My favourite compatible nespresso capsules are the Starbucks house blend variety with some of the others in the range good to... they not the cheapest but they not the most expensive either... but you get what you pay for..I decided to upgrade my review to two stars... but I still think these pods aren’t really fit for purpose... but have to give some recognition to lavazza in trying to make a eco pod..

Nespresso compatible eco pods.
Nice espresso coffee, and the bonus is that it is eco friendly. I read about these capsules a few months ago and wrote to Lavazza to ask if it was correct they had developed pods made from thistle. We were in the market for a new coffee machine, but sadly they never got back to me. I ended up buying a Nespresso machine instead. Then I saw the Lavazza pods for Lavazza machines. Happily they also make pods for Nespresso also. Just tried one and very happy with the flavour and taste. Clever those Italians!

Fantastic and great service. Shipping was faster than expected.
Put the pod into the pod fitting compartment. Lower the pod loading lever to close the pod fitting compartment. Press the switch-on/supply button, then wait for the desired amount to be supplied. Capsules Compatible with Nespresso Original machines for home use.\n\n
