Divinity Anthology Collectors Edition
J**.
Over-Delivering on value.
First, I'm not going to make this into a review of the games themselves. They've been out for years, and all the information you could want on them is easily found. The anthology itself is the thing to consider here. The Games: You get two copies each of Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, and Divinity II: Director's Cut, which includes both the original Ego Draconis and its expansion, Flames of Vengeance. The first copy is a physical, DRM-free disk. The second copy is a Steam code. No matter what your preferred distribution method is, they've got you covered. Couldn't ask for more. The Soundtrack: Two disks are included here. Musica Divina is a collection of tracks from the games. Musica Obscura includes tracks that didn't make the games, and is still quite good. Both are worth listening to if you like soundtrack/atmospheric music. Actual CD's that will play in whatever device you prefer, not just digital download like some publishers have been providing recently. The Dev Journal: Surprisingly worth an actual read. The developers show an uncommon insight into their own failings and future ambitions, chronicling in a simple, clean style what they've learned over the years and how their core concepts have evolved. Hardbound, and doubles as a nifty little artbook.Posters: Two posters, double-sided. Not full 36x24 size, but not exactly small, either. The art, especially for the upcoming Divinity: Original Sin, is certainly good enough to actually display if you're into game-based decoration.Unique DLC: Two items, one each for the now-released Divinity: Dragon Commander and Divinity: Original Sin. Nothing essential, but unique to this anthology. At the current price as I write this ($30) I can easily recommend the anthology to anyone wanting to get into the Divinity series. The price is competitive with Steam and/or GOG, and you get plenty of extras. Even for existing Divinity fans who may already own all three of these products (As I did), I'd feel comfortable recommending a purchase based on the convenience of DRM free hard copies and the excellent collection of extras.

THIS is how you do an Anthology!
Yes Larian shows the big publishers how to do a proper collection. The contents:1) 2 DVDs (including 3 DRM FREE games):-Divine Divinity-beyond Divinity-Divinity 2 Developer's cut(Note: A code for the STEAM versions of the games is included, but not required)2) 2 Soundtrack CDs-1 CD contains select tracks from the first two games (also available separately on Larian's website)-1 CD contains unreleased tracks from the games, exclusive to this anthology.3)Hard bound, developer's journal (133 pages) discussing the development of the games. (In color)4) 2 Double sided posters of previous and upcoming games.5) 2 DLC codes for their two upcoming games (Divinity Dragon Commander, and Divinity Original Sin)6) StickersThe games:1)In short, Divine Divinity is an open world game like Skyrim but looks and plays like Diablo2. A good game overall and I understand why it has won awards.2)Beyond Divinity is an interesting game where you play two characters (one paladin one doom knight), I haven't played this game but ever since seeing some gameplay footage I've been wanting to get my hands on it.3)Divinity 2 (Ego Draconis) with the expansion pack (Flames of vengeance). Good graphics (though slightly goofy looking animations). This game is extremely entertaining, you can tell the developers had fun making it. The main story is compelling and serious, and the side quests are mostly funny. Yes, this game is filled to the brim with jokes, running gags, references (books, movies, TV shows, games, even internet memes). This Developer's edition adds a lot of deleted content into the game for you to play. It also gives you almost complete control of the game - think of it as the ultimate box of cheat codes.(You can transform yourself into a troll and fight summoned killer bunnies!)Overall highly recommend, my only grip:Larian Studios why didn't you release this Anthology in North America!?

Awesome deal!
It came way sooner than expected first of all. Which is always good. The box isn't in the best of conditions but everything else is immaculate. The games are all great, as are the posters and stickers. The developer's journal is really cool to read and the soundtrack is wonderful and whimsical. It was $35 on here with $4 shipping and all the extras vs $30 on steam where you get just the games. Its a great deal and everything in it is great as well! I strongly recommend if you like Action RPGs. Lots of sweet loot in the games and this Anthology itself is a piece of sweet loot.

RPG Classics
First and foremost, this product is DRM FREE... If you want to Steam it - go ahead and do so; but third world users should beware of the STEAM account not functioning and depriving you of all your games in the near future. I keep getting the message that due to internet or STEAM, my account cannot connect... FTS . Back to the game. I really enjoyed it. The Anthology shows you in a special way the development flow of this particular game. Only Con - the game manual could have been a little bit more explicit. Not all of us have a PC interface intuition. Thanks Guys and Gals at Larian...

expected more
2 of the 3 games are 2d old school, and tho I enjoy them at times, it was not what I was expecting. The 3rd was even more than I expected, and there was some other cool stuff included. overall a good story-line and build, lots of side quests, fairly linear but some exploring to do, and generally, it pays off, lots of upgradable items, etc

Bought it for the soundtracks
Truth to tell, I love game soundtracks and this one came with two, and it was at a great price. The game is good, but not the reason I bought it.

Great deal. I really appreciate the steam codes so to prolong my ownership of these classics, even if its through digital forms.

Nice little box set for the nostalgic gamer
I got this on a whim because it was only a little more expensive than the Steam version of the Anthology. The main selling point here is an actual hard back developers book, poster and sticker which you cant get through digital distribution methods (obviously!). While I wasnt too interested in the poster and stickers, the Developer Diary is a nice little coffee table type book for game enthusiasts. While its specifically about Divinity, there is a lot of transferable relevance to any games creation and good to thumb through. Everything else was expected, the game cds and soundtrack. All nicely presentedIf I had made my decision again, and while the book is nice; everything else of interest to me could have been obtained for less digitally. By thats my preferenceOverall:Great as a collectors edition- All such editions should be so reasonably priced.

How did I miss these?
I have well over 1000 PC/Xbox/Xbox 360 games, all original. I somehow missed this excellent series, very impressed with this collector's edition.

DRM Free + Steam Activation :)
This is just a heads up. The games included are DRM free disk installs, but the package also contains a Steam activation code for all three games which isn't in the current product description. A wonderful package worth buying.
