I brought two of these for a two week vacation in the Caribbean. The anchors did work however the inside of the metal tubing that holds the umbrella is NOT powder coated. You MUST wash these out with fresh water every time you use them. The salty sand will get inside of this tube and will start to aggressively rust the inside after just once use. It is also very hard to wash inside the tube so be prepared to bring along a long scrub brush to the inside of the tube. Any area that isn't powder coated will show small signs of brown rust almost immediately after the first use. There is a plastic sleeve and retainer is supposed to aid in various sized umbrella pole sizes as well as keeping you from accidently losing the retention screw for the umbrella pole once inserted. The plastic broke almost immediately after the first use but its unlikely you will ever back out the screw enough to loose it. The screw head is sharp enough to cut the bag it comes in so be prepared to cover it with a wine cork or something else to keep this sharp point from doing any damage. One benefit to this screw is that there aren't any sharp edges above the screw part to catch your toes when its buried in the sand. All the parts that stick out are rounded off. This screw works but you must be willing to care for it after every use if you want to extend its life.

Looks nice. Doesn't fit standard patio umbrella even after removing the plastic spacer. Main reason for buying it. Fitted some PVC between the two to connect it. Seems well made, despite the tiny welds holding it together. They don't inspire much confidence. I tried busting them loose, but they did hold, so we'll see how they hold up. Sprayed a liberal coat of spray paint inside, as that's virtually un-painted. Didn't expect much for the price, didn't get much either.

I don't actually use it to hold a beach umbrella. I use it to tie off our 20 foot ski boat when we want to tie up on a beach while out boating on our lakes in southern California. Throwing the anchor on the beach didn't work. The breeze would slowly blow the boat away. This thing takes a great bite in the sand. It's steel and really tough. The handles are a loop of steel and easy to tie a line to them. It has been a perfect solution.

I purchased this to use at the beach. I used this 3 times. The first two times it was great. On the 3rd time, the metal piece that holds the locking screw in place broke - making this useless. My umbrella blew off and I had to chase it down the beach. I bought a metal anchor specifically so this would not happen, but the weld holding this together fell apart.

A good product but not good enough for lightly windy conditions, out umbrella blew over several times. Made of heavy metal it is sturdy and turns easily into the sand. Would prefer it to have the ability to dig deeper to hold up when the breeze blows.

The anchor is metal so it is virtually unbreakable. It is easy to screw into the sand . The carry bag is a nice touch that makes it easier to handle. Would recommend. I bought one for me & one for a friend who loaned me a plastic one that broke.

Quality beach anchor. I don't feel like I'm going to break it when I screw it in the sand. Comes with a small adapter to hold smaller umbrellas
