Crusoe, the Celebrity Dachshund: Adventures of the Wiener Dog Extraordinaire Hardcover – October 27, 2015

I discovered Crusoe's blog maybe a year ago, and it has become my favorite blog. Partly because Crusoe's dad makes such creative costumes for Crusoe and partly because the writing is great.. Some of the costumes include pilot, policeman, fireman, doctor, pirate...and the #1 of all times, Minions!!. Crusoe seems to be having such fun with all the costumes and the adventures.When the book became available on pre-order, though, I wasn't that excited. I thought - I read the blog, why do I want another book around the house? I'll probably read it once and then never look at it again. But in a moment of weakness (and love of dachshunds), I purchased it, and I am so glad I did.The book itself has a sturdy feel to it. I can open it to a page, and it stays open so I can leave it open to my favorite picture/story of the day. The cover isn't a paper jacket that will tear, but a sturdy cover that will hold up to dog slobber and rough wear.The content includes high quality photos, interesting graphics, and excellent writing. I actually sat down and read it all the way through the day after I received it. (I kept saying, just one more story.....) And I have dipped into it several times since then, "forcing" family members to look at the adorable Crusoe the Sushi Chef or Crusoe does Italian! I think what makes this different from other dog books is the great writing. Even if you aren't a dachshund lover, you will enjoy the fun this dog has, and his droll sense of humor. If you aren't sure, read a couple of blogs and see if you like this style of writing. Then go buy the book. You won't be sorry. In fact, I need to buy another one for my SIL for Christmas.

For the uninitiated, Crusoe, a black and tan miniature dachshund, has a wide audience of Doxie lovers, courtesy of his own blog, Facebook page and Youtube videos. Thus, Crusoe has become quite the celebrity in a short period of time. In his book, this amazingly photogenic “wonder wiener” engagingly shares his many adventures and travels with his Mum and Dad. Always immaculately attired for any occasion, Crusoe, along with and his little brother Oakley, engage the reader in their playtime. As Batman and Robin, this dynamic canine duo can be found rushing off to “protect the world from dubious cats and criminals”, as well as to save damsels in distress. At Christmas, the boys impersonate a chef and his assistant to prepare Christmas dinner for the family. Besides, showing off his culinary skills, the multitalented Crusoe shares his various adventures with the reader. We see him downhill skiing, piloting a pontoon plane, duck hunting and supervising his Mum at apple-picking time. To show his soft side, Crusoe plays doctor for his Mum and Dad when they get an attack of “dachshuenza”, a flu-like symptom associated with “someone who’s obsessed with dachshunds.” Then to cement his stud muffin status, Crusoe engages in a doxie version of ABC’s “The Bachelor”.Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund offers a comical and heartwarming glimpse of Crusoe’s life. Let’s hope this charismatic canine can find time for a follow-up book. Both his canine and human fans will be barking for it.

I quickly became a Crusoe fan when I saw his videos on line (Facebook). I knew I had to buy his Best Seller Book and find out all about this cute dachshund! The book lived up to the all I heard about it! It is well written and delightful to read. The stories kept me smiling and laughing. And I have re-read the book since it is so entertaining. A great coffee table book for conversations! Its a very easy book to read with lots of colorful photos of Crusoe in different situations and outfits! His Dad and Mum have spared nothing to make their Crusoe happy! I got the electronic version as well! And the price is right! You will become a fan of Crusoe if you aren't already! Check out his videos on Facebook! He has his own facebook page and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world!

My obsession with Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund began the way many addictions begin for me: my mother tagged me in a Facebook post. It was a cold and windy Saturday and I was developing an icky sinus infection. My mom and I were on our way home from a get-better-soon shopping trip to Barnes and Noble and I noticed a notification on my Facebook App. The moment I saw that adorable video of Crusoe in an Easter bunny costume, I was hooked! I quickly subscribed to his Facebook page, tracked down his blog, and once I learned he had written a book, well, I WAS SOLD. I guess Mom got tired of dealing with my drool stains, because she was kind enough to buy me a copy of his book!When Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund finally showed up I was in wiener dog heaven. There is so much to enjoy in Crusoe’s “memoir.” He tells us stories from his childhood, stories about growing up in the country and takes us along with him on some wacky adventures! My personal favorite moments from the book is when he dons his chef hat and cooks us up something yummy! Crusoe has many hobbies and the best part is probably all his little outfits!Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund is such an original read! When you read through it like I did, it can seem a bit slow, but I couldn’t miss Crusoe’s adorable (albeit slightly unreliable and very biased) narration! 😀 I felt as if Crusoe was really telling his story. I also enjoyed meeting the rest of his furry family, Oakley (his wiener dog brother from another mother) and Laffie, the French Brittany Spaniel who was like a mother figure to him.I hope Crusoe continues to write about his many extraordinary adventures, because he has made a life-long fan of me. You can also check out his blog to get a sneak peek on his writing style. I recommend this book to EVERYONE! Pet lovers, kids, adults, wiener dog enthusiasts (such as myself). This book could appeal to all who loves a little humor mixed with adorable animal adventure!

Love Crusoe The Dachshund! I watch his videos all the time, so I just had to have this book. Filled with Crusoe's typical humour and adorable photos, this is a must have for any Crusoe fan! :) 🐶

Después de conocerlo por años, e incluso tener tres perros salchicha de mi propiedad, decidí comprar este libro como regalo para mi mamá que también es una leal fan😂Y tiene una calidad impresionante, es de pasta dura, las hojas son briantes y gruesas (y tiene varias páginas), y la impresión es muy clara y nítida. Imprimir libros es muy caro, así que me imagino que les está llendo bien!!Está en inglés, y es muy divertido de leer, además de que vienen muchas fotos de Crusoe, Oakley y sus amigos en sus tantas aventuras. Creo que es un must-have de cualquier fan de crusoe, o de los Dachshunds en general.Fué una adquisición muy acertada. ¡Es muy tierno!

This book is an utter wonder letting you peak into the mind of a dynamic dachshund and his family. Full of love and humour, I would recommend this book to the whole family. Even reading the book to children at night. (I read it to my dogs nightly - they go to sleep to the adventures of Crusoe - Wonder Dog and his little brother Oakley) x
