Would Like to See it in the Real World
The concepts in the text sound reasonable. But I would like to see the application in the real world (health care exchanges do not count, by the way), in a typical business environment where pushy C-level executives demand better, faster, cheaper and where staffing shortages, staff overload, time constraints, and financial constraints are a constant. It is fully apparent that the editor’s chapters in the book are academic. Also, the editor’s writing style seems to be completely scattered, possibly making it very difficult for a reader to succinctly understand what the writer is trying to communicate. After reading and re-reading chapter six on data privacy, security, and compline, it isn’t clear that the author of that chapter makes a clear distinction between security and compliance. In the real world, that is clearly two very different topics. Neither guarantees the other. On the other hand, chapter three, covering metadata management appears to be, in my opinion, spot on.In my opinion, the book earns a grade of a C.It would help to see more business case studies in the book that demonstrate application in the face of the massive hurdles that exist in businesses outside of academia.
