The rules were a bit laborious to follow but, I believe, do the job of duplicating battles of the period on a table top. Still, you would get your moneys worth if you only bought this as a reference book.

Very good
Another fine set of Osprey Wargames Rules sold at a good price and quickly delivered. I look forward to playing these.

More than anything the system is just so boring to play
Was really excited to try out these rules after building up a large pirate force however they aren't up to Osprey's usual standard. More than anything the system is just so boring to play, much more enjoyable pirate rulesets out there.

Disappointing
Having bought the book mainly for rules, I was let down by the fact they were largely non existant! I have a collection of pirate figures which I was looking forward to use but the rules the book were very basic and difficult to find within the text of the book. The history within the rules was interesting enough.
