Not Great For Ground Beef
After using this colander for a while, I've decided I don't love it. It might be fine if you only use it to wash fruits and veggies or other larger items, but I use it mostly for draining ground beef. It's not very good for this purpose, as many of ground beef particles tend to get stuck in all the little holes, making it difficult to clean...haven't actually found a good solution for this yet. I also think it needs a pour-spout on the side for transferring contents back into your cooking pot/pan. If you try to pour it back in, the contents falls over the sides of the pot, and either goes down the drain or on your counter, depending on where you set it. I have resorted to spooning it back in, which is time consuming and troublesome. A minor complaint is that, due to the large base and handles, it doesn't nest as well with other bowls when storing.

Rust never sleeps
Good size, good design, good construction, but alas, after a year, it is rusting. Yes, it's stainless steel, but it's Chinese stainless steel, which is a dragon of a different color. The alloys that make stainless steel stainless are also the ones that make it cost more, so...

Good general purpose collander, but not good for washing rice.
Light-weight. Easily dented. Holes have fairly sharp edges, so sharp it could probably be used to grate carrots. But overall, it is a nice large colander. I use it for everything from draining freshly washed vegetables to draining boiled pasta. Insulated handles are a nice touch for dealing with hot food items.I thought that the Kukpo Easy Grip colander would be useful for washing rice. However, I quickly discovered that the holes are TOO BIG to completely catch all of the rice. I've attached photos showing what was left on the kitchen counter after placing a couple of cups of uncooked rice into the colander. As you can plainly see, there are grains of rice that went through the colander. That was just gravity fed, no agitation involved! Moreover, a lot of grains got wedged into the holes during washing. Afterwards, I spent more time picking the rice out of the colander holes than I spent washing the rice! (This is true of both brown rice and white rice, bins of each pictured in the background.)

So far, so good ...
My old school style that my grandmothers and mother used lasted me roughly forty years. So, I decided to get something a bit more snazzier since I do all of the cooking. So far, so good, but I'm not as rough with it, so I will update this in ten or twenty years and let you know how it's doing.

Extremely hard to clean bits of food out from between base ring and colander. Ridiculously hard!
Hard to clean!Manufacturer didn’t take the time to polish off the rough side, so it tends to hold onto bits and pieces. The worst part is the bottom base ring! It’s tacked on, instead of the ring being completely attached. If they had completely attached the ring, it would have sealed out the bits of food.Since it’s only tacked on, bits of food get caught between the ring and colander.Even using a brush doesn’t get food bits out. You have to use the sink sprayer on full hot, for minutes on end.Just when you think your done getting all the bits of food out, more come out.I do NOT recommend!

Lasted 4 years then a handle fell off
It lasted 4 years of standard kitchen usage, maybe 4 to 5 times a week. But then the handle separated from the body. The handles are tacked on, not held on by rivets as a more rugged colander would be. The metal of the colander is super thin giving it a cheap feel. For the price, this should be a lifetime purchase, not 4 years.

Decent, but not amazing
I like it, but I don't love it. It's what I expected, so that's good, but I settled instead of shopping around more. The little holes are so small and 'sharp' that it's a real pain to wash properly. However, again, it was exactly what I thought it would be. The quality of metal isn't great, but it seems to retain its shape relatively easily. It's decent.5/19/19 update:Still in excellent shape, so I guess it's a quality product after all. However I'm leaving the rating at 4 stars and not 5 because it's still a pain to wash.

Great size for big jobs!
Nice big strainer - works wonderfully when straining pasta. I also love to have it sitting in a shallow pan waiting for a freshly stewed chicken or a pork shoulder for barbecue. It's nice and wide with plenty of draining holes. That allows your meat to cool before boning. The handle adds to its size making it impossible for me to store in a cupboard anymore but it looks really nice hanging from a hook on the wall!
