Great Alternative for Dryer sheets and dark loads
Use these as an alternative to dryer sheets. Use all 6 balls for each load, but tend to have large loads. They do reduce drying time by 10-15 minutes, often reducing the need for a second go-round. They leave clothes, sheets, towels etc., soft & fluffy. They do not sound harsh in the dryer just the occasional bump when one falls right. Unfortunately, they do not control static very well, but was expecting that as per other reviews. Have mostly dark loads, but occasionally some whites. Have used these with white loads and so far no black fuzz rubs off, no issues with lint transfer. Would highly recommend and will buy again if needed...now if only I could figure out what to do about the static...

No Chemicals, No Itch
I have used these twice with dark loads and I like the results. My clothing and towels were soft, not completely static free, but very close. I did use a damp sock to tumble along with the load to add some humidity in the dryer. The reason I purchased these is that I had made the mistake of purchasing some "scent crystals" softener which my husband became enamored with quickly and which he used liberally. Every time he uses them I get a headache when they are in the wash, and my skin gets irritated from contact with anything washed with the crystals. Once I did a little research on the scent crystals ingredients, and after pondering how a manufacturer thinks it's good practice to use ingredients that material safety data sheets deem as skin irritants (dollars, dollars, we don't care), I decided to give these wool balls a try. I'm satisfied, no headache, no itch! Recommended if you are trying to reduce the number of chemicals in your household routines and yet you still want some softness and anti-static effects in your laundry.

Amazing and necessary if you have to wear dark uniforms and have a fluffy dog!
I volunteer for my local police department and we wear uniforms similar to our officers; just different colors. I also have a black and white, cocker, spaniel who is groomed every month, but has a very full undercoat that flies all over the house. I get do me vacuuming, just to have to turn around and pull it out again because more hair is on the floor. So, I was having a very difficult time getting all her hair off my navy blue uniform pants. One wash of my 3 pairs of navy pants and a run through the dryer with all 6 balls and like magic they were as clean as the day I bought them (no more little Molly hairs)!I'm so impressed with these little balls that I'm going to buy the lighter color ones for my light colored clothing. If you have to wash and dry your own dark uniform pants, you won't be sorry you tried these out!

Worst Amazon purchase I have ever made, and I've made many. I'd give negative stars if I could.
It says to wash before using in cold water and detergent. I washed and rinsed and washed and rinsed. If I didn't know better I would say these are ink balls. The black dye kept coming out. Finally thought I rinsed them clear, and put the in the dryer, only to find my entire dryer tub is now gritty black. So, spent an hour washing the inside of my dryer, still don't think I have it all. If you want all your clothes to have black dye on them, and all your machines to also be covered with it, this is the product for you. See photos. Seller emailed that I should wash in hot (insert says cold) so I did so . This is after washing and rinsing three times and then in hot and my hand after washing my hands with soap...won’t come off.

Disappointed and slightly grossed out
There's no lint, I suppose, but I'll tell you what there's a lot of: Fine, wiry, black hairs all over me when I towel off. Even if they're not visible on the fabric, these hairs show up on me and all over my bathroom when I use towels dried with these balls. Their appearance is a little too much like pubic hair for my liking. Took a chance on all the positive reviews, but I think now it's clear that in order for me to have no lint or hairs whatsoever on my laundry, home and person, I'll need to stick with the noisy plastic variety. That or tennis balls. The only solution I can think of would be to wrap these things in old pantyhose. If that doesn't work, these are beyond anything but the garbage.

Great for wet or dry clothes
I air dry my black outer wear (tops and pants); however after the items are dry, I toss everything along with the black wool dryer balls in the dryer to remove lint. The balls work well.

No need for dryer sheets or liquid softner
Awesome! Noticeably fluffier and minimizes static. This is my first use of wool dryer balls. Before using the wool balls I used the plastic balls with knobs and they worked ok, not awesome, but ok....although after awhile they split apart. Not a big deal, one would expect diminished use over time. But I *really* like the extra softness and fluffiness of the wool versus plastic. No need for dryer sheets or to add liquid softener, unless I want. I bought black and they work just fine with my light colored clothes, too. I will definitely buy again.

No more white lint on my dark clothes
While I've not used a dryer sheet in forever, due to allergies, someone told me to try wool dryer balls. I figured why not, what do I have to loose and besides, I can use my essential oils to give my laundry a scent that I choose rather than the ones of pre-scented dryer sheets. I love that I can use these on my dark clothes and don't have to worry about the "where did that come from white lint" on my clothes. The dryer balls leave my clothes soft and smelling good. Glad I decided to give them a try. If you're on the fence or want to get away from the chemicals in dry sheets, I say give them a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well they work. Some people complained that there was an odor with theirs, I; however, haven't experienced any odor with my dryer balls other than the lingering scent of the oils I put on them. I'm happy that I purchased these and will certainly purchase more in the future.
