This book was a book of looking at what can come after raising your children and still nurturing your marriage. Jack and Birdie have been married for twenty four years and have let the passion drift out of their marriage. Until Birdie leaves Jack and moves back to their home…alone.After much of the book, Jack realizes what he is missing and…. Read the book to find out the ending. Great story.

This is one of the books I’ve read in a long time. All her books are good and well written but this one is raw and real. I loved it. A page turner

This book almost lost me for the first half as I couldn't feel connected to the haracters or as what point the author was tying to make. As a woman in her last years or life I did appreciate the main characters resolve to recreate herself. Book was okay but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to a friend.

Kristen Hanna never fails to deliver a story that touches my heart and soul. Didn’t want to put it down. This s book will touch your life and your heart.

Thoroughly enjoyed Distant Shores. It was a heartwarming story about the trials of marriage. Her early books are not as good as her last 4 but I still recommend this book. Read it in 2 days.

I have long been a fan of Kristin Hannah but for the record, this book is my favorite to date. The characters were real and the subject matter made me believe that the authir had probably lived through a time just like what she wrote about in this book. Genuinely authentic.

It took me longer to read this one compared to her other novels which have more intensity. But like the others, she develops rich characters who you want to be invested with and tells and honest story of love that somehow aloud me to remember and feel deep things about my own life. She’s my favorite writer! Loved this one too!
