Honda Extended Run Gas Cap
Seems to be well made, but is pretty loose fitting. Fits over gas tank with 1/8" slop until it seals to the top of the tank. Feels like it would be easy to strip the tank threads if tightened very much because the threads do not mesh tightly. Remember, the gas tank needs to vent. Once you install an outboard tank fitting, If you want to use this cap without an outboard tank, you need to get an outboard hose fitting to let air into the tank or you will create a vacuum. (Or use the original cap with the vent open)Overall, it will do the job. For the price, it should fit better.

It is Beatifully Made and It Works
I use it to connect a Honda EU2000-Companion generator to two marine fuel tanks. I don't want to get up at night to refill the small internal fuel tank inside the Honda generator. That's why I use this connector to connect the generator to two marine fuel tanks. I figure this arrangement should allow me to run the generator for two days before I need to refill the fuel tanks. That is just an estimate. I didn't have a chance to run the generator for an extended period of time to see how long the gasoline from those two fuel tanks can last.So far, I have run the generator long enough to confirm that the generator can suck gasoline from the fuel tanks. I have a transparent inline fuel filter in the fuel hose that I can visually see that gasoline is actually being sucked into the fuel filter. One of the possible thing that this arrangement can go wrong is the cap may not seal 100% and cannot create suction. Good thing I don't have this problem. Seem like the black gasket inside the cap provides an air seal. Nevertheless this will only work if the top edge of the plastic fuel inlet of the Honda generator is not dented. This means I need to protect the plastic fuel inlet and don't try to tilt the generator to pour the last few drops of gasoline from the internal fuel tank (and risk having the plastic fuel inlet to hit something). In other words, if you find that the top edge of the fuel inlet of your Honda generator is not even, you "may" not be able to use this cap because it won't create a tight seal. The black gasket in the cap has some "give" but not much. It likely can take care of some minor "uneven". But I doubt that it can take care of a lot of "uneven". Therefore, check the top edge of your Honda fuel inlet before ordering this cap.One more thing that I need to point out is that the cap is beatifully milled from a solid piece of metal. When I hold it in my hand, I can "feel" the quality. I really like it despite its cost. I guess quality always comes at a price.

The one I have received the threads are not like the threads on my Honda Generator
The one I have received the threads are not like the threads on my Honda Generator. Yes it ruined the generator threading the original cap barely fits back on now. I do believe i received the wrong part for another generator. Just not the trouble to send back and pay shipping again

Good Product - Bad Communication
I ordered these generator gas caps two weeks before I needed them, and was surprised when the estimated delivery date was more like 3-4 weeks when I placed the order. I sent a message to the Great River Company stating my concern, and never received a response from them. However, the items arrived well ahead of the estimated delivery date, and I assume they pad the shipping time so they can beat those dates for review purposes. They either lack confidence in their shipping, or they are gaming the system. Either way, I won't order anything else from the Great River Company. That being said, the products are very good.

Great product
I bought this cap to extend the run time for my honda eu2000i generator. I own my own business that takes me all over the country and to save money on hotels I converted the back of my pickup into a sleeper with a tv, air conditioner for hot weather and a heater for cold weather, plus a few other essentials. Before I bought this cap I would have to get up in the middle of the night to refill the generator. During the summer it was a minor inconvenience but in the winter it could became hazardous and maybe even deadly if I didn't wake up in time. Now my generator will run for 48 hours if I need it to. I love this product it works exactly as advertised and is of high quality and as a bonus it's made in America.

Pricey but perfect.
I am very happy with this product and took it over to my local Honda Generator Dealer (A-1. Lodi, CA) to show them. Very pricey but a perfectly rendered machine part. Fit like a glove, works great and looks like an American made part remenicent of yesteryear, not a Chinese knock off. The product is not for sale in Corrupt, CARB controlled California but is a perfect zero emmissions product since none of the vapors produced by pouring .95 gallons of gas, from a fuel spraying CARB designed plastic gas can, in the genset tank are released and in fact any vapor expansion in contained in the 6 gallon outboard tank. The regulatory dip sticks in Sacramento missed this one big time. Buy the extended run gas cap and vote out the bums in 2012. You won't be sorry.

Didn't fit on my older EU2000I. I gave it ...
Didn't fit on my older EU2000I. I gave it to a buddy who has a new unit and it fit perfectly. Be aware that if you're trying to use this on an older inverter it might not fit.

I like!
AWESOME! Works flawlessly with a boat outboard tank i use a 3gal for my honda eu2000. I called honda and they told me they dont recommend using this and to make sure the external tank was still elevated over the generator in case vacume was lost to protect the fuel pump. I get a lot of questions at campgrounds hell one guy offered me 100 bucks for my set up i might start keeping a few of these around to sell. Buy this u will be happy with it or you can just do what i did for years and wake your old lady up at O dark 30 to put more MO-GAS in the generator. My wife prob likes it more than me i bet.
