I do not hate it 🙂
The media could not be loaded. My bed actually looks super cute on it. Irl I saw the platform bed bought it cuz well it’s what I wanted then far to late I read tye reviews and was super skeptical, considering I tried to than cancel my order within like three hours of you been making the order and I received an email stating that Amazon could not cancel the order they were going to continue the process and I could return it if I liked. It came in on time I think even like a day actually before it was supposed to arrive definitely like 200 pounds I live on the third floor was not expecting that. My friend actually unboxed it and brought it up piece by piece. They also set it up. It took them about I want to say 2 1/2 hours. I kept them company definitely a tedious task overall, I wouldn’t step on the platform without the mattress to even out the weight as well as I give more credit to who set it up for me bc the company dosnt make it the easiest but they don’t make it impossible either I will say overall overpriced but what was I expecting I like it .

Thoroughly Disgusted
I don't think I've ever written a one-star review, for I usually believe there is always something decent to be said about every purchase. Not this time. I am absolutely disgusted with this purchase and feel like I've thrown away over $200 on this bed. Save yourself the time, stress, and worry, and do not purchase this bed. There are better quality beds out there for the same amount of money. Keep looking. Why? Let me start. After a lengthy wait, the bed was shipped via Prime (the only good thing about this purchase) and came requiring a signature. When the box was opened, the instructions were almost indecipherable. The bed was put together mainly from looking at the pictures of it, and it took three days to piece it all together. This is not an easy assembly. Perhaps for a master carpenter, but not for the average Joe and Jane. Maybe we received a different product from the other reviewers, but I can honestly say that it took a solid 24 hours of labor to figure out which piece went where and assemble it all. It uses screws, fasteners, and required the use of a drill, screwdriver, and hammer, also not a big deal, but make sure you're ready.Upon assembly, eight screws were missing. Considering it was so big and heavy and took so long to ship, rather than wait for the pieces to come from the manufacturer, a trip to Home Depot was made to purchase them. Another delay in assembly. Finally, the bed is put together! But wait! As soon as it was sat on, the middle support beam broke - yes, broke. The wood snapped. After all the frustration of putting it together, the first time it was sat on, it fell apart. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating it was. Once more, since it took so long to come, another trip to Home Depot was made for a replacement board. However, now we're getting really stressed out. After a couple of weeks of gingerly sitting on the bed and replacing the fasteners that keep popping out because they don't fit the thin boards well, guess what? Sitting on the bed causes all the lower support beams to crack. Yes, crack. Now I don't know what tree this poor bed came from, but it's the cheapest, flimsiest wood I've ever seen. We're not overweight people, and this is coming from a person 115 pounds sitting on it. That's sad.At this point, I decide I've wasted a hefty chunk of money and want to return it. There are other beds out there that are much better quality for the same amount of money, and I want my money's worth. Well, naturally Amazon wants the bed back. The idea of taking it apart and trying to jam it in a box when it weighs more than I do is discouraging and disappointing. I understand that they want the defective purchase back, but we don't have the materials, time, and patience to tear it all down and ship it back. In addition, the box it arrived in was sent to the trash when we finished putting it together. So we're stuck in a quandary with a piece of junk bed that wasn't worth $50 let alone over $200.I purchased this bed based on the reviews. A lot of people said it was pretty, easy to assemble, and worth the money. Well, I'm sorry to say that has not been my experience. As much as I hate to write a one-star review, I have had no choice. I'm stuck with a purchase that was not worth the money and has completely fallen apart. I'm sorry to have flushed the money down the toilet and seen my family suffer through so much stress with a piece of furniture.

I like the bed, I would recommend it, but dont expect perfection
I bought this bed despite the so-so reviews. I'll say that for the price I am happy with it! I bought the full line of South Shore furniture (two different dressers, platform bed, book case night stands, headboard). The bed seemed to sustain the most dings/damage during shipping compared to the other items I bought, and this is what I found to be the case on all items that I purchased: (1) Assembly is not complicated, and while the picture-only instructions suffice, installing did take me longer than I thought for each item, and a few times I had to scratch my head at the instruction picture to understand what they were trying to say. All in all, you'll get a ton of individual pieces to assemble, but with a little time it's easy. (2) The two larger items (6-drawer dresser and bed) arrived with some degree of banged up corners here or there. The 6-drawer dresser has two corners beat up a little on the top. Quite a few of the platform bed slats are the same. The damage is more than can be repaired with the black sharpie (correction crayon I think they call it) and you can see deformed corners and the laminate chipped up, however again for the price it's not a bad deal, just don't expect perfect stuff when it arrives. I might try a few small slivers of black tape to see if it contains further damage, or improves the corners cosmetically. (3) When I un-boxed each item, they all looked like they were freshly packed in the wood shop. There was quite a bit of wood shavings/dust on all of the pieces. (4) Unlike what some other reviews have said, I found all of the holes to be drilled as instructed and expected. Everything lined up perfect, and at times when things didn't like up, I took a step back, looked over the instructions again, and found out where I went wrong (based on shoddy directions in some parts, perhaps). (5) 2-man assembly is recommended, however I assembled everything on my own. A second set of hands surely might have made a few parts easier/faster, but I had zero problems working solo. (6) All furniture items really show fingerprints well if you're messy and not using the handles. If you have kids that like to touch everything, I suspect you'll see little hand imprints on your furniture. It wipes off easily, though. (7) In general, everything went together well. There is a drawer on a dresser that is about 1/8" off taking away from perfection, and one of the bed slats is off by about the same (not sure if it was due to my installing or not). For the bed, once a queen mattress is paced on top, it covers the minor imperfection. If you're on the fence about buying south shore, I'd say go for it, but only if the price is right. Also, the quality seems good to me, but do expect a few dinged corners. The dings and damage may be caused during shipping, the boxes are very heavy and I'm sure they get thrown around during shipping.

I laughed through out the whole set up... Good frame
Chose this because honestly the price, the look and the drawers. Now this arrived at around 2 pm on the scheduled day it said, let me say pouring day on top and this box is heavy. The delivery man laughed when I asked for him to put it in my varanda, maybe 5 front steps? That's how heavy, in the pouring rain the man managed to put it on it side and slide it up to my varanda and than I had help from family to bring it inside. There was no way anyone could get this up the stairs... So opened the box right by the front of the house and carried the wood pieces up to my room.. Maybe 4 times up&down, tiring ... Than I start by preparing, taking our mattress and old bed out, and I put the peices where they were suppose to go, I started reading the instructions, they were pretty easy, the screws and etc could of been labed better the wood pieces are marked with letters. Now I got one drawer peice in brown when my bed was ordered in black lol but that's fine. Than by the time we actually started screwing in nails was maybe 4pm, and this took all the way until 9pm. First be very careful screwing in these screws.. Any little mis direction and you end up poking it right across and scrapping the wood peices(FYI I understand this is like synthetic wood maybe yeh maybe not, I'm aware it's not the best material). Than the drawer metal sliding part, it was so yucky! It was probably something to make the drawers slide but it was hard to work with. Secondly after dealing with the yucky whatever, we couldn't get the drawers to fit. We don't know what could possibly have had happened but it was far from slidding in. After 15 minutes trying to get the right drawer in, my boyfriend finally got it by basically kicking close.. Meaning to open and close again would be hassle so, left drawer went to the basement by 9pm we didn't have the energy and patience for such a simple bed to force the other drawer in, so we left that side basically open. It seems like the top was screwed on too tight ?that the drawer didn't wanna fit inside, than we unscrewed that but made no difference in fact we never screwed it back. Than we started looking at the sides and trying to figure out what to do but we don't know the cause of why the drawers didn't fit, which is really disappointing we need nothing more than storage in this room, but what you going go do. Thirdly, it doesn't feel very safe if you were going to step on it but with the matrress it seems fine. Supports me and my boyfriend and tickling wars. The matrress does move, we basically have the frame on the corner of the room so we just "cornered" the mattress and to be honest there's maybe a 2-3" platform on my right side and 5-6" platform on the bottom feet where we can sit but not for too long until your ass starts going numb. So I kind of don't understand how you'd "center" a mattress just like in the picture and have as much space as youd have in the picture, but that's whatever. My mattress is a full/double size. I like the platform look, I like that I can hide wires and extra storage boxes under it and its open access. I didn't like the time it took to put together, I don't like the non stable feeling, I don't like that I can't use the drawers, and I didn't like how they mixed a brown peice in a black set during the packaging. I'd recommend this if you don't mind going through what I did, I'd recommend it because it does the job at holding up the mattress which is what I really need ... In conclusion and you need a frame and this once catches your eyes because of the price, that's fine it'll do the job but just be prepared to maybe deal with extra issues putting it together ... For the price, I got a good bed size and frame. This fits into my lifestyle and this is how these s***ty beds keep being made cause people like me will like this and buy it.

It's ok but cheaply made
It is not easy to put together and is really heavy. I moved into a new home and it got scratched up pretty easy even while being really careful. Some of the plastic strip type finish rolled off in a couple places from sliding it into the room. I also find an unknown noise will happen while turning over during sleep. Wakes me up sometimes. The corners are incredibly sharp so I've had to put protectors on the corners to save my shins. You get what you pay for

Good Value But Some Issues
I have had this bed for a couple of months now and I like it, although there are a few improvements that could be made. It took a few hours for two of us to get it built. The building process was pretty straight forward but the instructions leave much to be desired. They are simply pictures which can be a bit confusing at times. We did run into one issue where a screw would not line up with a piece of wood so we had to leave that screw out.Once built, the bed feels solid, offers good support for our mattress and is comfortable. It does make a bit of noise when you are tossing and turning at night but that may be because we left that one screw out. Our mattress was sliding a bit at first but we easily added some Velcro and movement is no longer an issue. The drawers are a good size and are a nice feature for extra storage. We also bought the matching headboard and the bed looks good with the headboard attached. There is a gap where the headboard meets the bed and pillows tend to slide down in there.

Better then I expected.
Based on other reviews I wasn't expecting too much. But the bed came well packaged with adequate padding for rough shipping. I bought this because of the low price, the storage draws, and it was lower to the floor, and we could ditch the box spring.Assembly was smooth I followed the instruction, took me about as long as it said it would. The materials are a bit flimsy, but one its assembled the bed is fairly strong. if you put pressure on the wrong thing while you're assembling the bed you could easily damage it, so make sure you follow the instructions. The bed is flat on top so the mattress is free to slide around, i also picked up a cheap anti-slip pad to go underneath the mattress, and it works great. This is a must, our mattress used to slide around on outbox spring, but it was contained by the headboard and footboard of the old bed, this bed has none of those things. The bad came as advertised, and for the price, I am very happy with it.
