I have always had a hard time trying get my 8 year old son to finish a chapter book on his own.. till he met "captain underpants" he enjoys reading the book, I literally hear him laughing out loud! He than walks over and tells me, what he just read was hillarious. He has been able to effortlessly write a short book summary about the pages he read without a problem. With that being said, that's proof that he is actually reading and enjoying the book. Needless to say we will be owning the entire captain underpants series.

We have fun with the Capt
Exactly what every 6yr old boy needs to be reading these daze. Not sure if the intentional misspelling here & there matters (after all, the book is about elem. skool boys scribbling out comic books). We have fun with the Capt. Underpants series, probably because I'm still a 6yr old boy myself. If you're kind of a prude, though, go buy him "War & Peace" or some Ayn Rand drivel, you'll hate the fun that this book makes.

Kid loves these
My kid loves the Captain Underpants series. Only two problems though:1) Why does anyone want to read about a cartoon character running around in their underpants?2) My son reads them so fast we have to order in bulk.Seriously, my son used to hate reading but read multiple books in the series at a record pace. I wish I had called Guiness Book of World records but who knew? I didn't even think he would finish one without being forced to read. +1 for the wife. Good decision.

Farts for days
My son just turned 8 and he loves these books. Perfect for boys (& tom-boys) who agree that the more farts mentioned, the better. My son reads at a 4th grade reading level and has no issues with the content of the book. He loves these book so much that he reads them multiple times each, and reads them to his 3 year old brother (who also finds them hysterical).

Motivation for my 4 year old to read...
So my 4 year old loves these books ever since we saw the movie in theaters. It's gotten him interested in reading and I haven't heard him laugh so much as this series of books. It's very clever and has some jokes for older kids and adults (nothing too crude), but my MIL wanted to read a few after reading these to my oldest son. Just a heads up, since it's a chapter book, younger kids don't quite get the 'one more chapter... please!' doesn't work after you've read 5 chapters and they want to know what's going to happen.

5 Stars
We loved this book, it’s the best. We loved the end because George and Harold almost got frozen on the last page. We like Crackers the pterodactyl and Sulu the hamster. We hope that Crackers will never have to go back to his home. Sulu loves George Beard and Harold Hutchins.

Another great addition to the series!
My son loved the book. He is 7 and I downloaded the book and he had it read by the end of the day. He is a very good reader, so I don't know if most 7 year olds would read it that quickly, but he loved it. Normally I would not give such a high rating to a book that he read so quickly, but the series keeps him reading, so that, by itself, deserves 5 stars!

Good read for 7 year old
A thousand thumbs up!My son is 7, moving to grade 3 in January and is a very good reader for his age. I want him to keep reading for fun so I purchase a good variety of books for him. It usually takes him a week or two to get through a 'home-read' because of his reading homework, but he read this book over a weekend. He completely followed the story and enjoyed the illustrations and the characters. I want to buy more in the series.

A CHILDREN'S DELIGHT
Another in the children's (and many adults) favourite series of Captain Underpants highly amusing adventures in which `wedgie power' is used to overcome a veritable phalanx of comical super villains with the help of a motley and constantly changing cast of unlikely super heroes. And why do kids absolutely love these books beyond most others? `Simple' as that annoying tv advert meerkat says repeatedly to the enrichment of the owners of an internet comparison site, because the jocularity is very basic majoring on `fart' humour, irreverent, fast moving, and one whole lot of fun.....just about everything that most kids lap up. Little wonder that killjoy groups such as The American Library Association features The Captain Underpants books very high up in their lists of books needed to be banned......goodness me we can't be having children actually reading books, and enjoying the experience - its better for them to continue watching television and computer screens and not read at all! Instead of castigating and poo-pooing (if you excuse the expression) the Captain and his knockabout friends and foes, plaudits by the bucket full should be showered over this series of books. In this episode our valiant verging on flatulent hero, Captain Underpants returns to battle the evil Captain Blunderpants, with the help of two new superheroes, Great Granny Girdle and Boxer Boy resulting in yet another hilarious romp.Highly recommended.
