FAST DELIVERY...APPEARS TO BE GOOD QUALITY...HELL TO REPLACE...
Replacement ear pads arrived promptly... Packaged well. The problem with the ear pads is the installations of them. This is a common comment made for all the replacement ear pads. The old Sony ear pads came off very easily. Now...there are NO instructions regarding the "best" way to put the new pads on. Trial and error is the only way. Noticed that the "tuck in" material for the new ear pads (which you work into the groove area on the head phone)...is much less than the amount of the original Sony ear pads. Talk about the time to fit these into the gooves...and the amount of effort is ridiculous. Everytime I got one 90% on...it would slide out from some area already completed. Finally...figured out that as you work the new ear pads on the headphones...you have to hold what you've already done VERY tightly until the last little tuck piece is in. Do not...and I stress Do Not try to align the new ear pads as the "tuck material" will come right out. I feel the "tuck material" should be longer to allow for much easier replacement. They should be tigh to hold the ear pads firmly to the headphone...but it would make the process soooo much easier. It took me almost an hour...and a frustrating hour...to get both ear pads replaced. My forearms also "ached" afterwards given the amount of pressure I had to use to hold the material into the groove area. They look/feel fine...a bit thinner than the original Sony's...but good quality it appears. Go for it...but understand it is a chore to put them on...and be in a good mood to start the process...

A good way to refurbish these funky Sony headphones. Installation explained.
Love these things. I can't say much for the design and quality of the Sony headphones that that these replacement pads are for --- The main frame breaks near the right speaker attachment at the slightest little drop to a carpeted floor (which I found a way to repair). I've bought 4 sets of the headphones (3 have broken in the exact same place and I repaired), and I've also have replaced the ear pads on all 4 sets. If you're looking at ordering these replacement ear pads then you know that the originals wear out pretty soon. The black vinyl covering begins to peel off and stick to your face so that you look in the mirror and see a black spot on your ear or neck and you think you've suddenly developed melanoma. So far, the replacement pads seems to hold up at least as long as the originals. As far as installing these replacement pads, I found it quite easy. I am mechanically inclined and fix all kinds of things, so I may have an advantage. The first one I installed took me 10 or 15 minutes and the most recent one took maybe 1 or 2 minutes. The basic principle I applied for installation is like installing a tight bicycle tire onto its rim. You need to have flexible and somewhat strong hands to start one edge of the pad "hood" fabric into the groove on the headphone speaker, and then HOLD that spot in place (with one strong finger...) while you work your way around the rest of the circle. Make sure and have the orientation of the pad approximately correct (I think it's the thicker part of the pad facing forward....) before you start because it's a little hard to rotate the pad to the right orientation after it's installed. That being said, I usually DO rotate the pad back and forth a few degrees after installation to "seat" the hood material fully into the speaker groove. I also finish off by using my finger/fingernail to drive the fabric as far "on" to the speaker as possible.I hope this helps.

As good as is available
Original SONY ear pads just wore out. Needed a replacement. These are of decent quality, comparable to the original SONY ear pads ... maybe better. Main problem is installing them on the ear phones. Relatively tight fit around the edges which have to be slid into fairly narrow channels around each earpiece. Takes some patience to figure out the best technique to get them on, but once on they are comfortable. With constant handling they do begin to slide off and remounting them is a nuisance. This may be due more to the way SONY designed the earpiece and how the pads are mounted as opposed to the replacement pads themselves. Overall, these are probably as good as is available and do the job once they are on.

Not as good as the originals, but they work well enough for the price.
I purchased these as replacements for the original cushions on my MDR-RF970R headphones when the originals were chewed by my cats and started flaking apart. I was hesitant to buy them due to the negative reviews, but they seem to fit well enough for the price. As many have said, the elastic part that fits in the channel isn't nearly as wide as the original pads. Time will tell if they hold up, but for less than 10 bucks I'm willing to take that chance. One more thing to note. They were somewhat tricky to get on, but it took me less than 30 minutes to get both pads on.

So far, so good -
Bought these to replace worn out pads on my husbands wireless headphones. They appeared to be the same size as the old ones. They were a little difficult to get on, but they do need to fit tight. My husband said they feel a little smaller on his ears than the original ones, but that could be because the originals may have flattened out some from long use. But he said they are comfortable and certainly beats having little pieces of black plastic coming off in his ears! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 since he has not used them very long. But so far so good, and they have not popped off the headphones yet, as some people said they had trouble with.

for headphones
They are comfortable but after several tries to get the cushions on, they briefly stayed on but came off again. Not sure how to get them on to stay--don't want to use glue obviouly.

... any way since my existing Sony-MDR-RF970R pads are in bad shape. Unfortunately the negative reviews were absolutely correct
Despite other negative reviews for fit and installation I thought I'd try them any way since my existing Sony-MDR-RF970R pads are in bad shape. Unfortunately the negative reviews were absolutely correct. Even after taking an earpiece apart to get the best leverage, there was no way these were going on. Overall, they are too small and stretch material is about half the width of the original Sony pads making permanent anchoring almost? impossible, even if the pads themselves were bigger. Don't waste your money or your time on this product.

Ear Pads do not fit!!
The ear pads clearly do not fit my SONY MDR-RF970R headset. The come off with nothing definitely too small.
